Quotes
I believe that America is about to turn out of captivity and we are going to see revival running in our streets again. -Philip Cameron
That’s the legacy that I want that will go to heaven, [Russel’s] soul. Not the buildings, they go away. The people saved in the buildings go forever. -Pastor Jim Bakker
Narative
On this special edition of The Jim Bakker Show, Pastor Jim & Lori Bakker celebrate his 50th year anniversary. Pastor Jim has been a pioneer of Christian broadcasting.
Pastor Jim and Lori share about the stress and emotional exhaustion of how wonderful of a moment the night before was for the both of them. Pastor Jim felt like his “gas tank” was on empty, but the annointing of the Holy Spirit kicked in. Dale Hill compared the night before to the beginnings of The 700 Club.
The crew talks about the progress of both Lori’s house and the Stella’s house. When Pastor Jim handed the first check to Philip Cameron to help with Stella’s House, this was a turning point for the ministry. The ministry began to see miracles happen. There are moments in history when God allows everything the Devil has been holding back from you to rush out like a dam breaking. When you decide now is the moment, that’s when everything changes.
If you could see your need through the One who fills the desire of every living thing, you would know there is a vast supply. God will supply all of your needs!
Both Philip and Pastor Jim were overwhelmed by the success of Stella’s house. God is doing something! There are life changing events and moments that change your life.
Russell James shares how the Holy Spirit used Pastor Jim to convict him. While watching the World Series in 1985, Russell changed the channel and heard Pastor Jim say “I want you to know I love you. I forgive you of everything you said about me and did to me and Jesus loves you too.”
Jeanne Johnson related to the Stella’s House girls by sharing how her parents had divorced and left her and her siblings with their grandparents. She waited for them to come back, and they never came. She learned about the Lord because her grandparents took them to church every time the doors were open.
The crew share some of their favorite memories and moments at Heritage. Pastor Jim reminisced about the communication systems they had put into place. What kept Heritage alive was the vision and the dream. At Heritage, something was going on all the time for the people. It was a place where services were going on 24 hours a day. In a 24 hour period over over 1,700 people would go through the prayer line at the Upper Room for personal prayer. Vi Azvedo shared that the workshops she hosted at Heritage counseled over 66,000 people. Heritage wasn’t a carnival or a theme park. It was a place where millions found Christ.
Pastor Jim and Jeanne talked about the opening of the water park at Heritage. 6 million people came through the gates the last year it was open. That was the third largest attendance in the United States, next to the Walt Disney parks.
Because he didn’t like concrete, Pastor Jim decided he wanted to use sand and make a beach for the wave pool. The day before the water parked opened, the inspectors said they could not use sand. Since the rest of the park was already built, the use of tractors and trucks was impossible. Pastor Jim bought hundreds of shovels. He started shoveling by himself, then his team began to help, then the staff, and the partner’s visiting also pitched in. Minutes before the grand opening, they had finished removing all of the sand. As Bishop Ron Webb says “Teamwork makes the Dream Work.”
Scripture
Mark 3:3 NCV And he said unto the man which had the wilthered hand, Stand forth.
Mark 3:5 KJV And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.
Mark 2:4 NCV When they got through, they lowered the mat with the paralyzed man on it.
Mark 2:5 NCV When Jesus saw the faith of these people, he said to the paralyzed man, “Young man, your sins are forgiven.”
Mark 2:9 NCV Which is easier: to tell this paralyzed man, “your sins are forgiven ” or tell him, “Stand up. Take your mat and walk.”
Luke 15:11-32 The Prodigal Son
Philippians 4:19 KJV But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
