Are you a part of the 99%?
Who simply JUST live for: the new car, the next raise, the ‘better image’, the best cell phone, the bigger house, a better boat.
Ask yourself, “What is the TRUE motivation behind the things that I do?” (Take a minute.)
Is life all about the material? Is life all about the fleeting? If it is, then what a meaningless existence!
Yet, this is what the MAJORITY of American people spend MOST of their entire life seeking… Are those things really worth living for?
Listen, if it’s not worth dying for then it’s NOT worth living for either.
Christ said in Matthew 6: 19-21 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
The hard fact is that our hearts and our minds are on this temporary realm, a realm that is but a shadow of a larger reality -Heaven or Hell. And that ‘Other Reality’ is where we will be spending forever and ever…for all of eternity.
It’s not bad to have ‘nice things’ but if that is what we are living for, if that is what is behind our motivation, then we have lost focus. The enemy has once again distracted our hearts and our minds to focus on the here and now. His trap is to keep us from thinking about how the ‘here and now’ affects our entire eternity.
So I end with this, let us strive to be like Paul the Apostle when he said in Corinthians that he in fact does, “all things for the sake of the Gospel.” Now THAT is what I call eternally minded!
Let us clear the idols of distraction from our hearts. And let’s focus on the things that matter:
Jesus and People.
Love, Zach
Hi zack my first time in your blog. I liked what you wrote so far. Here in Utah lots of people have food storages. Mormons and christains . we save up food. So when some thing happens. We have food and share it with others. There are are some christains that come from outside the state of Utah. And tell us that we are wrong in gathering food and supplies. Because it is a Mormon thing. It is a everybody thing.we are all in this together. I don’t know what most of these christains are thinking. Paster jim Bakker is so right.we do need to be ready spirtally and with food and water . all of that will bring a lot of people to Christ . I am starting to learn about the bible. For the first time in me life. I am 55 years old now . I don’t know much. But I do know deep in my heart jim Bakker is right. I haven’t been inside of a church since I was very young. I thank you and the 700 club. For caring .
Zach, I want to be all God has made me to be, including loving my fellow man. However, I am struggling and doing so much searching, over how I feel toward Muslims. There is so much about moderates not being violent, but no matter where I read, the Koran says that all infidels are to surrender or be killed. A muslin must believe and follow the Koran. How can there be moderates? I will not surrender to any God other than the Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. How do I love my fellow man, when he serves such a hostile God? How do I reach out to those who would destroy Israel, the birth place of my Jesus? How do I love my neighbour who denies all I know is true? How does a Christian love a Muslim? Is this the same as God loves the sinner but not the sin? Souls are what matter. I need help overcoming this anger and mistrust that I find deep inside.
Hey Zack, I just watched your man on the street on roku, loved it but what happened to the Prophesy in the news? There hasn’t been any new ones on roku for a long time.I miss it.
Thank you Claudia your support. The Prophecy in the News has been cancelled until the first of the year.
I heard someone’s testimony about their time in Bible school a year or so back; can’t remember who it was, but it rocked me to my core. He was driving around with some classmates, looking at the ginormous houses of the rich folks, and his buddy kept saying, “It’s all going to burn!” That story sank right into me. Whenever I get a little too fond of anything that wouldn’t survive a supernova (LOL), I’ll say out loud, “It’s all going to burn!” It may sound a bit rough but it’s a great way to keep both eyes on Jesus and not “stuff.” 😀
Greetings from East Coast Canada Brother Zack! Great programme always but enjoyed hearing some new info from Mark Biltz on the Fri Sep 18 video. I believe with all my heart that the 2 cows marked “7” is a very prophetic sign. What Mark said about “14 years” was unique. What reference source is Mark using to say that the total collapse of the Ten Tribes of Israel came after 14 years of grace after their defiant attitude and declarations of Isaiah 9:10? Blessings!
I wonder if the ministry you are involved in has crossed the line in too much emphasis on storage for this earth in light of the verses in Matthew 6 you just quoted. If you continue to read in verses 25 thru 33 you can clearly see that what we eat an what we drink should not be a comsuming thought:
“25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
I do believe that we are in or near the last days, but we ought to trust His Word which promises he will take care of us. Our responsibility is to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and he will provide all these things. As you know you could have enough survival food for 100 years, but if we have not trusted in Jesus to save us from the penalty of sin we have nothing. Many people can not afford survival food, but the gift of eternal life is free.
So true. Most people could never afford to stock up much food, no matter how frugally we are living.
