Rather than throw in the towel and give into these emotions that want to get the best of you, why not stop now and let the word of God rule in your life today. -Pastor Jim Bakker

Narrative

Pastor Jim recalls the time in his life when it was Christmas time and he was down and out. He went from having the biggest ministry to having absolutely nothing. Months after Christmas he lost his home, his cars and everything as he hit rock bottom. They had some money for Christmas, but they decided as a family to help a family who needed it more. They bought everything that they could that the family put on the list. His son, Jamie Charles, told him that it was the best Christmas that they ever had. Pastor Bakker’s son didn’t get anything for Christmas, but to them it was so sacred and special. Pastor Jim remembers his son Jamie Charles giving someone else the bike that should have been for him, but giving with a cheerful heart.

There truly was a St. Nicolas who honored Jesus and the giving ministry that he had. Whether you teach your children to believe or not, the spirit of giving is alive and well at the holiday season. It’s a time for family and getting together. Children and adults alike are excited because this special time of year brings everyone together. Lori’s grandfather used to play Santa at Sears and Roebuck. Her grandfather was a carpenter, but his greatest joy was playing Santa every year.

Tiffany, Pastor Jim and Lori’s Makeup Artist, shares a memory of Christmas. She expressed the joy of sharing with family of seventy members. Her grandparents had six kids. Christmas Eve always spent at the grandparents’ home, but this year her grandmother went home to be with the Lord. Her grandmother hand wrote each card to each of the seventy people, which this year leaves a void. Pastor Jim comforted her by saying that even the saddest memories become our comfort at some place in our lives.

Pastor Jim received notice that the food prices are going to be going up on January 2, 2012. The urgency is at hand to get the family ready with storage of food. Pastor Jim not only believes that 2012 is a year of organization, but he also believes that it is time to stock pile as this may be the only year of peace left. The food shipments are behind, but those who get their orders in quickly can be on the list when the shipment arrives.

Carol, from the Accounting Department, was honored for her birthday. She passes out a special gift out to every person who helps make this ministry possible. Carol is very special to Pastor Jim as she never complains and works hard. She has remained steady throughout the broadcast and he honors Carol for her hard work and dedication. Carol officially paid all the bills and the broadcast owns no one anything.

Lori’s touching tribute to her husband and the staff of the Morningside is moving. She pours her heart out and explains the struggle of making a television broadcast. Pastor Jim concurs with her and they heartwarmingly tell the struggles of keeping the show on the air for the purpose of getting the gospel out to the world. Pastor Jim encourages those watching to get into the Word, so that you will not be deceived. Deception is coming and the only way to protect oneself is to get into the Word of God.
