My Daily Walk (Pt. 1)

When I left prison, the Lord gave me 15 things that I wrote down that I determined in my heart that I would do from then on.  I’m going to share these with you and show you what the Word says about each one.  You know, it’s time now to return to the Bible and focus on each and every word that comes from it.  As we can see, all around us people everywhere are losing the ability to distinguish right from wrong and  truth from error.  We will find the answers to all that we seek ONLY in the Word of God.

I will humble myself and walk daily in humility before my God

1 Peter 5:5-11 NCV

In the same way, younger people should be willing to be under older people. And all of you should be very humble with each other. “God is against the proud, but he gives grace to the humble.”  Be humble under God’s powerful hand so he will lift you up when the right time comes. Give all your worries to him, because he cares about you. Control yourselves and be careful! The devil, your enemy, goes around like a roaring lion looking for someone to eat. Refuse to give in to him, by standing strong in your faith. You know that your Christian family all over the world is having the same kinds of suffering. And after you suffer for a short time, God, who gives all grace, will make everything right. He will make you strong and support you and keep you from falling. He called you to share in his glory in Christ, a glory that will continue forever. All power is his forever and ever. Amen.

Matthew 23:12 NCV

Whoever makes himself great will be made humble. Whoever makes himself humble will be made great.

2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

James 4:1-10 NCV

Give Yourselves to God

Do you know where your fights and arguments come from? They come from the selfish desires that war within you. You want things, but you do not have them. So you are ready to kill and are jealous of other people, but you still cannot get what you want. So you argue and fight. You do not get what you want, because you do not ask God. Or when you ask, you do not receive because the reason you ask is wrong. You want things so you can use them for your own pleasures. So, you are not loyal to God! You should know that loving the world is the same as hating God. Anyone who wants to be a friend of the world becomes God’s enemy. Do you think the Scripture means nothing that says, “The Spirit that God made to live in us wants us for himself alone”?   But God gives us even more grace, as the Scripture says, “God is against the proud, but he gives grace to the humble.” So give yourselves completely to God. Stand against the devil, and the devil will run from you. Come near to God, and God will come near to you. You sinners, clean sin out of your lives. You who are trying to follow God and the world at the same time, make your thinking pure. Be sad, cry, and weep! Change your laughter into crying and your joy into sadness.  Don’t be too proud in the Lord’s presence, and he will make you great.

  1. Thank you Pastor Jim, I’m going to check into getting this version for my youth group. It is so clear and speaks their language.

Keep on telling us about preparing Jim and Lori. We need it. It doesn’t matter that some people are ugly about it and say mean things. WE NEED TO HEAR THE TRUTH. We need to know what to do

    Love you both,
    Angela
