Narrative
Pastor Jim Bakker continued on the theme of preparing for the trying times ahead and noted that the Biblical word for tribulation means pressure. He added that the pressure around the world will only increase in 2012, which will be a year of great confusion. Economists have predicted that the end of America is near and even in Europe the money there sits on the verge of collapse. Pastor Jim said people are crying out for a leader. The United States has sent billions of dollars to the continent to help keep the Euro afloat, which led Pastor Jim to ask, “How can we bail out people when we’re worse off than the people we’re bailing out?”
The chaos around the world, he explained, only points to the signs Jesus gave in Matthew 24 that would signal his return: earthquakes, famines, wars and revelation of the anti-Christ. “He [Jesus] is coming back and it’s time to rejoice.” Pastor Jim went on to say that storing food should be a top priority at this time. He then welcomed Frank Weston and Konel Banner, creators of Morningside’s Emergency Fuel product. Konel shared how he used to start fires with sticks as a boy scout and that doing so required him to exert a lot of pressure to produce enough friction to cause a spark. Pastor Jim commented that he could never start a fire this way and pointed out that grandmothers, in an emergency, would not be able to either. Pastor Jim expressed that this is why he views the invention of Morningside’s Emergency Fuel as a God send, and even Lori called it an incredible creation that works like a miracle product.
Konel shared that when Haiti suffered the devastating earthquake of 2010, he was contacted to send the product there to enable the cooking of rice, a staple food loved by many in the country. Frank then outlined how the product is made from wood pellets from recycled 2×4 boards which are then coated with a wax like covering to make it water resistant. Holding some of the product while it burned in his hand, he then explained that the volcanic rocks in Morningside’s Emergency Fuel, act as an insulator and allow burning on surfaces covered with ice, snow or water.
Use of the product for grilling and barbequing, Frank continued, holds many advantages since it does not contain Benzene, the cancer causing ingredient found in most charcoal lighter fluids. Additionally, at the end of the burn life of the product, it can be used as a fertilizer for garden plants like tomatoes. Frank said the chemist who works with him and Konel discovered that the chemical composition of the used product is almost identical to that of the popular Miracle Gro plant food. The fire invention, in addition to having the potential to assist many in times of disaster and calamity, also benefits the environment without leaving anything to go to waste.
