Narrative
Pastor Jim and Lori revealed more of what occurred during their recent trip to Texas for the Master’s Commission International conference. The Morningside Master’s Choir performed before an audience of thousands after only four practices with choir leader Pastor Cedric Hayes. Student Nolan Schmidt recounted how unexpected obstacles almost prevented the performance from taking place, but outlined how the efforts of those attempting to hinder the choir failed. Pastor Jim used the term “warfare” to describe the trials the singers went through in order to share their gift of music at the gathering.
He went on to say that he plans to have the choir make a record, within 60 days, on the newly established Morningside Record label. He was brought to tears when explaining how God has restored so many aspects of his previous ministry, including the presence of music and singing.
Moving on to a more somber topic, he told of a conversation a trucker had with him recently, in which the driver said if the food transportation trucks ever stop running, stores will run out of food in only a couple of days, leaving masses of people with nothing to eat. According to recent news reports, gas prices in some states have reached nearly $6.00 per gallon, which means truckers will need to raise their rates in order to ensure they can purchase fuel to make their deliveries. That, in turn, will lead to grocery prices skyrocketing and create more difficulty for struggling families to purchase sufficient amounts of food. He went on to say that when extreme hunger overtakes people, they will do almost anything to survive.
Pastor Jim said the Bible foretells a day when food will have more value than silver or gold. The Old Testament book of Deuteronomy, he continued, even outlines that some, in the desperation of hunger, will eat their own children. He quickly added that many preachers fail to teach that lesson in their churches and likened them to “spiritual pickers” who pick only happy verses to base their sermons on. These preachers, he continued, feed their congregations religious fast food that results in the development of spiritual gluttons.
As he regularly does, he admonished Christians to prepare and ready themselves for the days of trouble ahead by storing up food and making plans for how to survive without electricity. He encouraged those building their own homes to make sure to include a fireplace in the house’s layout. Having one can serve as a source of heat, if need be, and also makes it possible to cook, in the case of a power outage. Pastor Jim feels like God set him as a watchman on the wall, warning and calling people to the way of safety and refuge. He noted that he has never studied like he does now, as the end of the age draws closer and the anti-Christ spirit continues to spread. All, he said, must turn to God before time is up.
