Narrative
Pastor Jim’s Revelation series continued with more emphasis and review of the events prophesied to occur after the blowing of the first two trumpets of Rev. 8. He pointed again to the Canary Islands as one possible site that may fulfill the chapter’s description of the casting of a mountain into the sea.
He showed a brief segment of a documentary in which scientists outline what will happen should the volcano on the island erupt. Such an event, they said, would cause an earthquake that would only widen the crack, or fault, that runs through the island. This, in turn, would cause a section of the volcano to shift and start to slide into the Atlantic Ocean, producing waves up to 1000 feet high. Next comes the triggering of a mega tsunami that would travel up the coast, destroying islands like Bermuda and the Bahamas and wiping out countries on Africa’s western coast. Approximately 9-10 hours later, the wall of water would reach America’s eastern coast, hitting places like New York, Boston, the Mid Atlantic states and down to Miami, with wall after wall of water; a barrage lasting up to five hours. The aftermath would negatively effect the east coast for several years. The scientists declared that the scale of the catastrophe would render even the Federal Emergency Management Agency incapable of handling it and would leave America in need of help from other countries.
Pastor Jim, minutes later, said that a more immediate threat lies in Wyoming, underneath Yellowstone National Park, the location of a mega volcano. If that structure ever erupted, he said, it would change the world as all have known it. He added that, recently, something has been weighing on his spirit, and although he does not completely see or comprehend it, he senses it has something to do with a coming calamity involving an economic collapse. Additionally, he also expects a major earthquake to strike the west coast as well as Tokyo, Japan.
He advised churches in the Los Angeles area to prepare themselves to help people when the major earthquake strikes there because the Red Cross lacks the ability to do it all. With the number of churches in most cities, Pastor Jim said if congregations nationwide readied themselves by stocking up on food, first aid kits, survival equipment, bandages and blankets, it would be similar to having a franchise on each corner that many would turn to in time of need. The same applies, he said, to individuals. Many confide in him that their friends ridicule or mock them for storing food and supplies in preparation for disasters, but Pastor Jim gave assurance that when the day of calamity arrives, those in need will view those who took the time to ready themselves as heroes, and will unashamedly come to them for assistance.
