Living Without Fear

Sharon Couchman

Living without fear – is that even possible?  Everyday we are confronted with opportunities to be fearful.  Especially in these end times we are being bombarded with news of unparalleled weather events, escalated violence, high unemployment rates and economic downturn.  Many nations are in turmoil and revolt and a plague of home foreclosures are all around us.   Unless we are rooted and grounded in the Word of God, all these negative reports can shake our sense of well being, thus opening us up to mental torment and the “what if’s”.  The devil uses the weapon of fear against all mankind, especially the Body of Christ.  Fear torments and robs us of peace.   If not dealt with, the fear tactic will hinder or destroy God’s people.

BUT GOD!! – The God factor makes all the difference!   Before you are slammed with fearful thoughts or face intimidating circumstances, it is imperative that you have your spiritual arsenal loaded with anti-fear scriptures.  If you already are struggling with fear it is not too late!   Jesus suffered for our peace and peace is part of our inheritance.   Isaiah 53:5–“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with His stripes we are healed.”  Whenever  fear comes and tries to hammer your brain, you will be able to resist those thoughts with anointed words and the name of Jesus!  Prepare to fight the good fight by declaring these promises from God’s Word.  When you are attacked with fear, attack back with the Word of God!

*Romans 8:31 –“What shall be then say to these things?  If God be for us, who can be against us?”

*II Tim 1:7—“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, love and a sound mind.”

*II Cor 2:14—“Now thanks be unto God, who always causes us to triumph in Christ…”

*Romans 8:37 – “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”

*Psalm 34:6-7—“This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.” KJV

*Psalm 27:1 — “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  The LORD is the strength of my life;   of whom shall I be afraid?”

*I John 4:18—“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear….” KJV.   Keep receiving more of God’s love and you will experience less and less fear.

*I John 4:4 — “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.

There are many other verses about fear and how to get rid of it.  I encourage you to study more scriptures for yourself and continue to be strengthened in this area.

“Our bold confession is that Christ is our righteousness, our health, our sanctification and deliverance and that He has given His angels charge over us to keep us in all our way.  My confession is that GOD IS WITH ME.” (David Nunn).   God and His Word are the answers to your fears.  Don’t settle for a fearful life.  We were destined to be people of faith.   The Lord bless you as you walk fearlessly and live in faith!
