Most of you know that family is so very important to me. I believe we are ‘set in families’ by the Lord according to scripture (Psalm 68:6). Our families provide a setting for much of the growth we experience in life as we love, help, teach, and learn from each other. We share our joys and our sorrows. We love, encourage, and affirm one another as we navigate through all of life’s challenges.
Family is the eternal pattern of God. In our families we learn to apply the teachings of Jesus Christ, and to be transformed to be what God wants us to be.
Family is the source of life’s greatest joys along with transforming trials. Family ties may bring us difficult challenges, but they also give us strength and some of our greatest happiness.
While we cannot choose the conditions of our birth, we can choose each day to make our families strong and content in the knowledge of the Lord. There is great strength in a family that lives with Jesus at the helm, and that strength helps us to cope with the challenges of life and to help each other through difficult times.
When we lose a family member, we grieve and look forward to a time we can see them again in the age to come. God comforts us with His Word as we wait for the redemption of these mortal bodies. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
Today, I want to take a moment to say that we should always reflect on the importance of each and every family member and hold them close while we can, treasuring the moments.
The love of family is one of life’s greatest blessings.
I, i love being with my family . i am a mother of 3 , HESTOR is going to be 40 , maribel she is going to be 38 . and after 10 years the LORD bless me with another boy . he now 30 years . both of them are PASTORS. I HAVE 3 GRANDKIDS , ONE is 13 she is a girl , one is 11 he is a boy . and the small one is 8 years old , he is a boy. i am now 61 years old , bless with a lovely husband . he is a gift of GOD . AFTER the ,LORD is the family and then the ministries, thats the order of GOD . may THE GOD of ISRAEL bless you and your family. AND the anointing of the HOLY SPIRIT be always upon you. i am so happy with your program i watch it every day and it is a blessing ; GOD BLESS
Dear Lorie, I love you and Jim and Tammy Sue. I wish that God would make a way for the rest of your family would be made known. The one.. thing I love about your show is the family atmosphere and imformality. Your topic today is family blessing of which I totally believe in,except….unless God builds the house…..what God hath joined together….GOD DID NOT PUT YOUR PARENTS TOGETHER NOR MINE NOR YOUR CHILDRENS NOR TAMMY FAYES NOR JIMS ETC SO ON AND SO FORTH NOT EVEN VIRGINS OF DIFFERENT FAITHS. NO,IT DIDN’T..THEN….I BECAME A FOLLOWER OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND THEN I WASN’T ALONE ANYMORE..FOR AWHILE…THEN I JOINED THE NAZERENE CHURCH AND I THOUGHT,NO IT DIDN’T….THEN I JOINED ASSEMBLY OF GOD….NO IT DIDN’T….THEN UPC……THEN three baptist churches…. two non denominations and now which ever on is preaching the truth on christian networks. You could have done your best,Jim and Tammy Faye done there best and all the reasons I mentioned before and it would not have mattered cause our ways are not His ways.Adam and Eve were made for each other cause there was a plan…Satan had a plan,then and now..whenever Gods plan isn’t followed then Satan has his plan…to seek and destroy…your marriage and my marriage,Tammy sues,Tammy Faye,my parents.your parents. I have a 50 year miserable marriage…we are now friends,we both have the usual american illnesses and we no longer have relations or are naked in front of each other and speak to each other as brother and sister…I have many points to share and one thing I know is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil flourishes in the church…God bless keep you in joy and wealth…
Thank you for sharing your heart about family. For me as a young mother it is very encouraging to hear from you, Lori. You have summed it that family is joy as well as triales. But it is all part of God’s plan for us to grow. My husband and I were so blessed by the Lori’s lamies. My boys love them. My little who has just turned 3 in october loves his Lamb Chap 🙂 Yes that is the mane as my husband named the lamby. He still can’t go to bad without his lamby. It puts a smile on our faces.
