“The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.” Proverbs 10:28
Being “Happy” is a decision. It is not a feeling – it is a choice. Hope makes you happy! “Happy is he that the God of Jacob has for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God.” Psalm 146:5
Psalm 32:11 says, “Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.”
If God said, “Be glad,” then we need to be glad. Why be glad? Because God is good and He has a good plan for us! Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” If we really believe this, it doesn’t matter what our present circumstances are or what we are currently experiencing…God said, “BE GLAD!”
Psalm 35:27 says, “Let them shout for joy and be glad, that favour My righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”
I have a Word from the Lord for you, “BE GLAD!” If the Word of the Lord says, “Be glad” and you decide not to, then what is the real problem? Rebellion and disobedience! What else could it be? If God says be glad, we are to be glad with no hesitation, or explaining or questioning. There should be just a whole lot of gladness.
When the Lord says, “Be glad”…your response should be “I’m glad!” Faith calls those things that be not as though they were. So, what should you do if you don’t feel glad? Well, it is all the more reason for you to say with determination, “I am glad!!!”
All you have to do is “be glad.” I know it sounds so simple, but think about it. When you are hurting in your body or having a whole lot of trouble with your spouse or kids or on your job, and yet you choose to be glad; that alone proves you have faith in the goodness of God and in the goodness of His plan. You are saying that no matter what’s going on, you believe you are coming out victoriously before you see anything! Glory to God!!! You are acting in faith and obedience and this pleases God.
SO BE GLAD IN THE LORD AND REJOICE!!
