Be Prepared, Weather the Storms, Clean Up After the Storms

This past year has been a year of escalation in violent storms.  In fact, records show that the number of thunderstorms, hail and tornadoes, has been rising rapidly for the last 30 years in this country.  There were about 60 natural disasters worldwide in 1980, compared to 247 events last year — a record.  (Source:  The New York Times “Climatewire”).

Didn’t Jesus say they would increase in frequency and intensity like birth pains?  Yes, He did!

Not long ago, the Lord gave me three instructions for the Revelation Days that we are in right now.  I believe they are for others as well.

First, He said to “be prepared.”

Jim and I talk a lot about  preparedness on the show.  We know that preparation is essential for us and we are trying to help others get prepared as well.  While we can only do our best, we understand that God is in control.  However, we do not use that as an excuse to avoid doing what we can to survive.  We will be as prepared as possible, while we trust God that His grace is sufficient for us.  We hope you will too.

The second instruction was “weather the storms.”

There’s a lot packed into that little statement.  While we can all get a good word picture from a ship tossed about on violent seas, weathering spiritual storms are just as important in these last days, and probably more so.
Have you noticed that the world is getting meaner, tougher, more violent, and just plain harsh?  It seems the culture of every continent is eroding with wave after wave of hate-filled human activity.  Movies, music and video games have degenerated into cesspools of violence and death.  Systematic desensitization to death and violence has been a major strategy of the evil one to corrupt the minds and spirits of our children.

We truly are entering a time that the Bible refers to in 2 Tim 3:1-5 (KJV): “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.  2For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

It’s going to take a lot of God within us in the Last Days to keep our hearts and minds right when all manner of evil may be unleashed towards God’s people.  “Weathering the Storms” will most certainly mean weathering natural storms for which we can prepare by storing food and other essentials.

But, weathering the storms caused by an environment of wickedness can only be done by storing the Word of God within us.  The Word of God is the only thing that will cleanse your spirit and keep your heart and mind pure… especially when evil comes at you from every direction.

In the scripture we often use regarding orphans and widows, it would do us well to read all the way to end:   “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”  James 1:27 NIV

The third thing the Lord spoke to me was to be ready to “clean up after the storm.”

When the Spring storms hit the middle of our nation, the devastation was so overwhelming that many people lost heart with the sheer immensity of it all.  There was loss of life and property and the areas where the storms hit were beaten and bruised beyond description.  The only way anything could be accomplished in the clean-up effort was a little at a time.

I watched as Jim and our teams went out to deliver food, water and other supplies to hurting people everywhere.  Relief comes when someone provides supplies and extends a hand to help and does whatever is needed.  The very beginning of restoration is cleanup.

Again, in the Last Days we need to be ready to minister to hurting people.  The Bible says that the Last Days is the “Harvestime.”  That means there will be a great harvest of souls coming into the Kingdom.  We need to be ready to help people when devastation hits, because they are not going to listen to you about your God if you can’t bring some kind of relief to them.

What we do from now on is critical and has eternal significance.  The Lord of Glory is about to return to set things in order, and we need to be looking for Him and listening to His Voice.  “Be prepared, weather the storms, and then clean up after the storms.”  That’s my instruction and I know there is love, care and concern from our Loving God in every word.  I hope you can receive them, too.

  1. I just want to thank God for the young lady who answered the phone one day while I was placing an order. My daughter was having severe problems with a pregnancy. Placenta Previa. She was told there was a chance she could hemorrhage to death during delivery. The baby was not turned the right way. My daughter was going through a rough time already. She and her husband both lost their jobs. A baby on the way. The young girl who answered the phone asked if she could pray with me. I told her what was going on with Carole. She called out my daughters name in prayer. I felt the answer was on its way as she prayed. Well right after that, the placenta moved out of the way, the baby turned and Carole gave birth to Abby. Abby=bringer of joy,
Abigail= a Father’s joy, Lucia= light, Bess= God of Abundance and God of plenty. Even her name is prophetic. Mother and baby are home now. Doing well. God Bless every part, every young person who prays for someone on the other line. God Bless you Lori and God Bless Jim

  4. I have been in constant prayer for God to give me revelation and wisdom. Last night at Walmart I bought a few food items and a radiator electric heater.. When I went to pay my bill, it was $162.00 !!!! My loaf of bread rang up $84.00!!! Everyone had a very puzzled look on their faces especially the cashier.. But not me.. Just as Preacher Jim and Miss Lori have been saying… a days wages for a loaf of bread..Customer service adjusted my bill as the bread was really $1.08.. I tried to tell them what the bible said and that this was a glimpse of what will soon happen.. They looked at me and pondered for just a bit but then continued their work as if to say.. awww that could never happen.. It will happen. Because God said it would. It will happen very soon. God bless you all, Deb from Virginia

    • wow, a wake up call. I purchased a bread maker and a huge bag of flour from Costco. Being originally from the Appalacia I already know how to make biscuits and cornbread. Had made my own yeast bread without a bread machine before. That is one of the things I have been concentrating on. Breads, coffee cakes, pies and cobblers. Since I feel this is part of preparation. Being prepared to make your own. God bless for sharing

      • Louise, hopefully there will be power to use the breadmaker!!!! Please use other means of providing for yourself and do not rely just on the breadmaker.

        • I can make anything from scratch. I have my cast iron, know how to make a solar over from a pizza box. then there is my crisis cooker. I have my rain barrels, seychelle, silver sol, long term food storage, I have the heirloom seeds, plus I can my own food and have taught myself how to dehydrate foods, Dehydrate 2 store has excellent video’s on that. I have a solar generator in case the power goes out. I also orderd a couple rad filters, have the seychelle shower head and potassium tablets. I am constantly trying to learn new things. Have the solar flashlights and also the flashlights jim offered. I ordered solar battery chargers. Then there are the backpacks. Fully stocked. I believe you should be prepared for just about anything. One thing I was not prepared for was the injury my husband sustained about a year ago. Please pray for us about that. I know the storms are coming,
I started preparing a few years back. I am sure that when the storms hit, there will be something else I find I need. But I have been bartering with a neighbor for repairs around the house.
The neighbor is very talented in just about anything. He brought up the subject of bartering. I was stunned, the storms haven’t hit yet, the big ones. I am already bartering just like Jim said.

        • I have researched and can make a solar over from a pizza box. I have also learned to dehydrate from dehydrate2store. Excellent video’s. I live in an area where hurricanes hit so I am prepared to go without power if it comes down to it. A crisis cooker, solar generator etc. I am a firm believer in the silver sol and the seychelle products. The water barrels can be a life saver if the power goes out. You can also use them if you plant the heirloom seeds. I know how to sprout my own food, can my garden produce etc. I am trying to leave no stone unturned. There are some things I would love to purchase like the fuel starter and the fruit buckets. The solar charger would be invaluable. However my husband was injured about a year and a half ago, he is still working until we go to mediation so say a prayer for us there. There is so much more I want to do, but I have learned a lot when our salary was cut drastically because of the injury. Also learning to do all the things he normally did I believe is a blessing of sorts. All things work to the good of those that love and fear God. Thank you for your concern.

    • Incredible…I also had purchased a bread maker when we were first told about the days wages for a loaf of bread. Bread is something we can take for granted unless we do not have it. I also have some recipes for bread without the bread maker…

  5. to be prepared, make oneself ready for something. Prepare for a test when in school. Make a boat ready for an impending storm. To prepare your home to withstand a hurricane. Through the teaching of Jim and you we are being warned by a loving God to prepare. Through the Word of God we are warned about what will take place in the last days. Preparing your heart with the Word of God to withstand the onslaught of the evil one. Satan loves to war against the mind. When you have sleepless nights due to worry, anxiety or fear. Or accusations, the devil is the acuser of the brethern, put on a cd of scripture and listen and focus on the Word. Prepare your physical body by exercise, healthy diet so you can run the race set before you. I thank God for you, and for the voices of those gone on before you such as David Wilkerson, Fred Stone who also warned of an impending food shortage before his transfer to glory. In a dream I had, and I do believe in prophetic dreams. I saw 5 storms coming, the first being the economy, the second being an oil crisis. This dream was before the oil spill, I knew the third had something to do with water and did not have revelation about the last two. The Lord spoke to me and said do not be afraid about what you see coming. It’s coming in 5 times stronger, 5 times faster. I know 5 represents something, 5 storms, etc. But the one thing I remember as I prepare is him speaking to me not to be afraid. What a loving God we serve.
