I am constantly asked how I got to where I am today. How did you get to Morningside? How did you become the co-host of an internationally syndicated television program at 24 years old? Was it easy? Did it happen overnight? I want to say a resounding NO. It did not happen overnight. Of the stories you have heard so far I feel like I have lived a pretty supernatural life. I have always been sensitive to the supernatural realm and I listen to the Holy Spirit inside of me. If He tells me to do something, I do it.
During one of the first days I got here, Pastor Jim saw something in me. He said, “I believe you are going to the mountaintop.” I remember everyone around him, saying, “Wow, who is this kid? He’s 18, right out of high school. Who is this kid Jim is talking about?” Pastor continued by telling me, “Don’t ever worry about how you are going to get there Zach. All you have to do is this…whenever God asks you to do something, you say, ‘Yes, God! Yes, God! Yes, God! Yes, God! YES!” He began to get louder and louder, repeating it over and over again, “Yes, God! Yes, God! YES, GOD! And Zach, before you know it, you are going to look around and say, ‘Oh my goodness, how did I get here’?”
It’s not simply by being a “yes man”; but by being a “yes man” to God. NEVER telling God no. I am not saying you can never argue, you know. It’s ok to argue with God, but it is always best to lose those arguments too.
I have learned that things aren’t going to happen overnight. I believe I am doing great things for being a 24 year old right now, but, compared to everything that God has told me I am going to do in my lifetime, this is just the tip of the iceberg. As the old saying goes, “You ain’t seen nothin yet!”
I believe this is what God has been saying to me, “You cannot imagine, Zach, what I’m going to do with your life yet. This is just your training ground!”
I come from the instant gratification generation. I thought that what God had called me to do at 17 would be easy and accomplished basically overnight. I truly believed I was going to come here and save the world in six months. I would come here, right after High School, evangelize, and the things that God had shown me were going to be done, would be complete in six months. But let me tell you right now that that is simply not how God operates. There are so many things you have to go through, so many things you have to experience for you to get to where God wants you to go. It’s not a microwave (Instant) kind of calling but more of a crock-pot calling (Takes time), and I’ve had to learn that during these last 6 years.
I have had to learn to fall in love with the journey. Not just to fall in love with where I’m going or what the end result is going to be, but with the growing process. I have to fall in love with the relationships that are being built and the experiences, good and bad, that I’ve had while ‘getting there’. It is the journey that God has blessed. And it’s the journey that you yourself need to learn to love. Stop and smell the flowers!
My journey to Morningside is what I will be talking about over the next few weeks. I look forward to sharing with you how carefully and supernaturally the Lord has worked to get me here and the truly blessed relationships formed from people that have believed in me and in whom God has brought into my life.

Zach I look forward to your posts on here. I remember when you first arrived at Morningside. I see such growth but also such excitement in what you are doing. This is as a result of you saying yes to what God asks of you. I am blessed to see you on the show and so many others are blessed as well. I like the topic you have “Learn to Love the Journey”. Those words speak volumes. We do not understand many times but this is where we lean on God, and stay in the” now” of our lives ,trying not to worry what is going to happen tomorrow ,and what am I doing to do about it. We do the best we can when we ask God to lead us, guide us and strengthen us for the steps He has called us to walk in this journey. I tell myself this as well..The road can be rough with many potholes, but it can also be smoother with a peace that passes all understanding if we trust in God in the midst of struggles. This is where we can be a light for Jesus to others as they watch us go thorough the difficult times with trust and faith in God…You are doing such a great work now Zach…keep leaning on Him….trusting Him… through everything! What a great story Zach. Stories like that bring a smile to me and my wife’s face. we pray that our grandchildren end up just like you or one of the masters media kids. Such a blessing. You know I used to be heavily involved in ministry and I had my own church building. We would love to have you guys over one day at the church I attend and you could teach the youth something about hard work and devotion. um Hilfe rufen . sie sind unter der alten Mühle hält mich gefangen .We had an old church name and slogan. It was “Huntington harvest: blessed are the pure in heart” and we would teach all day about holiness. It was wonderful. I love when Jim does his end time teachings and we can’t wait to see you on the show front and center teaching about God. At our church we had two floors.
