Russian Cyber-Gangster Targeting US Banks

Computer security firm McAfee has sent an alert to banks throughout the US that a Russian “cyber-gangster” using the alias “Thief-In-Law” is preparing a massive assault on the banking system.

The cyber-criminal has reportedly infected hundreds of computers in the US with the intent of stealing their bank account information. The information would then be used to pull money from their account and that of other people on the same banking system. Continue reading

Gunman Kills 26 In School Massacre

Evil struck Newtown, Connecticut this morning.

A gunman killed 26 people, including 20 children, before turning the gun on himself in the second worst school shooting in United States history.

Adam Lanza, 20, shot and killed his mother at their home in Newtown before going to the school and killing all the students in his mother’s kindergarten class.  In addition to the children, Lanza killed the principal and five other adults. Continue reading

Massive Cholera Outbreak In Haiti Traced To UN Camp

A cholera epidemic in Haiti has killed almost 8,000 people leading the United Nations to launch a $2 billion appeal for help in stopping the deaths.

The campaign comes as reports begin to surface that the current outbreak, the worst in the world at this time, started in a United Nations camp. Dr. Daniele Lantagne, a cholera specialist, said that UN troops from Nepal arrived with the disease. Nepal has widespread cholera cases and the molecular structure of the Haitian cholera matches strains from Nepal in 2010. Continue reading

Syrian Rebels Capture Major Military Base

Syrian rebels overran opposition at a base 15 miles west of Aleppo. The assault reportedly had been lead by Islamic militants.

The rebels reportedly gained access to anti-aircraft guns and other military weaponry, giving them a significant advantage in the battle for the largest city in the country. Videos posted online showed rebels taking control of a tank. Continue reading
