Hamas Rejects Peace Talks

Hamas held press conference Monday to condemn the peace talks between Palestinians and Israelis.

Egyptian Police Ready To Clear Out Pro-Morsi Protest Camps

Multiple news outlets are reporting that Egyptian police are preparing to move on the protest camps demanding the return of Mohammed Morsi to the Egyptian presidency.

A senior security source told Reuters “state security troops will be deployed around the sit-ins.” The Associated Press said security forces would be besieging the camps within 24 hours. Continue reading

Six Dead In Indonesia Volcano Eruption

Four adults and two children were killed when Mount Rokatenda suddenly erupted Saturday morning.  The eruption blew volcanic rock over a mile into the air.

The volcano covered a beach with hot ash killing the six.  Officials had issued a mandatory evacuation order for the area when the volcano began to show activity last year.  An almost two mile exclusion zone was routinely ignored by locals who had begun to accept the rumbling of the volcano was just normal and believed no eruption was about to happen. Rebels Claim Attack On Syrian President’s Motorcade

Syrian rebel forces claim a rocket and mortar attack on the motorcade of President Bashar al-Assad as he traveled to pray to mark the start of a major Muslim holiday.

Two Syrian rebel brigades say they struck Assad’s motorcade in the upscale Malki district of the capital. The government denied that any attack was made on or near the President’s motorcade. Continue reading
