North Korea Fires Missiles Over Weekend

North Korea conducted a missile test over the weekend in another attempt to show defiance to the world’s sanctions.

A short-range guided missile was fired into the water off the eastern coast Sunday and three short-range missiles were fired in a test on Saturday. South Korea called the acts “provocations” but noted that no North Korea troops were moving toward the border. Continue reading

Oklahoma City Trailer Park Destroyed By Tornado

A tornado that was part of a massive storm that struck the Midwest destroyed an Oklahoma City trailer park.

A storm spotter said the ground at the park was “scoured” after the tornado roared through Sunday afternoon.  Reports of injuries were scarce early Sunday evening as overturned tractor-trailers on Interstate 40 are blocking rescue workers from reaching the park. Continue reading

Tornado Strikes Edmond, Oklahoma

Properties were damaged, some significantly, but no one was seriously hurt when a tornado ripped through Edmond, Oklahoma on Sunday.

Around 3:47 p.m., sirens began to sound in Edmond as the twister touched down near Broadway and 15th Street.  The tornado then crossed Interstate 35 causing damage to the exterior of a soon-to-be-opened medical center. Continue reading

Doctor’s Son Arrested For Tricking Girlfriend Into Abortion Pill

A 28-year-old Tampa, Florida man is facing life in jail after he tricked his girlfriend into taking an abortion drug after she refused to get an abortion.

John Andrew Welden forged the signature of his father, Dr. Stephen Ward Welden, on a prescription for Cytotec, a drug that will induce an abortion. He placed the pills in a bottle labeled “amoxicillin” and told his girlfriend that his father wanted her on antibiotics according to a federal prosecutor. Continue reading
