Police: Boston Marathon bombs kill 2, hurt more than 20

Two dead in bomb blasts near finish line of Boston Marathon, Boston police say. Area hospitals say 28 injured.

Two explosions happened at about 2:50 p.m., more than two hours after the first of the race’s nearly 27,000 runners had crossed the finish line.

Boston Marathon Explosion: Headquarters On Lockdown Following Blast Near Race Finish Line

The headquarters of the Boston Marathon is on lockdown following two explosions near the finish line, Reuters reports.

The blasts occurred just before 3:00 p.m., according to MyFoxBoston.

Two people were killed and twenty-three others were injured, according to a preliminary statement from the Boston Police Department.

Boko Haram Leader: “We Have Done No Wrong”

A leader of the Nigerian Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram has released a statement that says his group has done nothing wrong and needs to amnesty from the government.

The statement comes after Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan had high level officials looking into amnesty for the group in return for peace. Boko Haram had previously requested amnesty from the government. Continue reading
