Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Psalm 103:2
Our Heavenly Father provides wonderful benefits for those who trust in Him. Most employers and insurance companies offer benefits but they are nothing compared to the gifts that God has for us.
Psalms 103 lists benefits which God has for His people and we are instructed to remember them. Why should we bother remembering them? Because if we will remind ourselves of what God says He will do for us, it will change our outlook on everything. We will have a heart of thankfulness for the goodness of God.
As you continue to read the rest of Psalms 103, receive these benefits, acknowledge how they are working in your life and you will be greatly encouraged. Make it personal.
- God forgives all my iniquities (sins).
- God heals all my diseases.
- He redeems my life from destruction.
- He crowns me with loving kindness and tender mercies.
- He satisfies my mouth with good things.
- He renews my youth like an eagle.
- He executes righteousness and judgment for me against oppression.
- He makes known His ways to me.
- The Lord is merciful and gracious to me.
Thinking on God’s promises and His benefits will develop an attitude of gratitude. This will influence your life in a positive manner. God’s blessing should never be taken for granted. We serve a loving Father and His benefits are from His heart of love toward us and He desires to bless His people. As you meditate on these blessings from the Lord, your heart will be greatly encouraged and uplifted. Develop a habit of thanking God for His goodness. Claim, receive, be grateful and especially forget not ALL HIS BENEFITS.
