Who are you listening to? Whose opinion matters the most to you? Are you listening to those bad memories that replay over and over in your mind? Are you are tormented by hurtful words spoken over you? What are you saying about yourself to yourself? As a Christian the final and most important opinion should be God’s. After all, He made you and He should know!!

When you receive Jesus as your Savior you are a new creation. II Corinthians 5:17 – If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature…” God’s Word has much to say about who you are when you belong to Jesus. The devil hates the fact that we are made in the image of God. So the enemy attempts to attack us before we discover who we really are in Christ. One of the most effective tools the enemy uses is to accuse and attack in the area of our self-worth and self-condemnation. However, John 8:32 tells us that the truth we know will set us free!

The truth about our identity is found in the Bible. When we have knowledge of these truths, then we can apply them to our life and be victorious over the devil’s untruths. We are to resist and repel the attacks of the enemy with God’s Word and meditate on the scriptures that describe our true identity. We are changed (transformed) by the renewing of our mind. (Romans 12:2) This change happens as we search the scriptures and discover who we really are and what we have in Christ. As you do this, you will be encouraging yourself in the Lord and will learn to love yourself and others as God loves you.

Speak and confess out loud these verses over yourself repeatedly until they become real to you.

**I have been given a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. II Timothy 1:7

**I have been raised up with Christ, my life is now hidden with Christ in God. Christ is now my life. Colossians 3:1-4

**I have Christ Himself in me. Colossians 1:27

**I have been firmly rooted in Christ and I am now built up in Him. Colossians 2:7

**I have been saved and called (set apart) according to God’s doing. II Timothy 1:9

**I am chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world. Ephesians 1:4

**I am a child of God. John 1:12, Romans 8:16 and I am alive in Christ. Galatians 2:20

**I am a partaker of His Divine Nature. II Peter 1:4

**I am the salt of the earth. Matthew 5:13

**I am bought with a price, I am not my own, I belong to God. I Corinthians 6:19-20

**I have the mind of Christ. Philippians 2:5, I Corinthians 2:16

**I am justified, completely forgiven and made righteous. Romans 5:1
