Listen for God’s Voice in Everything You Do

“In ALL your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:6

As we spend time with God each day, God will direct everything we do, and everywhere we go. How? He does this by giving us direction and wisdom beyond our own human abilities. If you have lived very long you probably realize that without the Lord we are dumber than a fence post and nothing we do is of lasting eternal value.

However, THE GOOD NEWS IS that when we spend time in God’s word and talking to Him, we can ask for His help in everything we do.

John 15:5 say’s, “I AM the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do NOTHING.”

Abiding in Jesus isn’t something that comes automatically to any believer. We have to choose to give ourselves to our union with the Lord, to give Him first place where our attention is concerned. It has to become a lifestyle, which takes discipline and effort. If we want to walk in power and in fellowship with the Lord, we’ll have to spend the time it takes to know Him.

Getting to know God involves making time for Him everyday through Bible study and prayer. That’s not something we can do for a period of time and then forget about it. When we begin to slip on our Bible and prayer time and start to walk through our days without acknowledging Him in everything we do, we discover that our life gets more challenging. As I commented earlier about the fence post, I’ve come to clearly realize that I’m not smart enough to know everything to do or say or where to go in this life. But I do know Who does and that is God.

You cannot afford to miss your time with God. We live in a body that is totally natural. Unless you purposely counter that with DAILY PRAYER AND TIME IN THE WORD OF GOD, your body and your mind will simply give in to the pressures around you and to the ways of the world. Choose to dedicate yourself to the things of God and invite Him into your everyday life. Surround yourself with His Word and acknowledge Him in all you do knowing that He promises to direct you!

Proverbs 3: 1-6 = “My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: 2) For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. 3) Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: 4) So shall thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. 5) Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6) In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
