What To Do When You Don’t Know What To Do

Sharon Couchman

What am I going to do now?  How many times have we asked ourselves this question throughout our life?  Unexpected circumstances, illness, trauma, betrayal, loss of employment or the sudden death of a loved one can throw us into a tailspin and cloud of confusion.  Fear, hopelessness, and despair attempt to torment our minds during these times.

Where to turn, what to do, and how to do it?  Many today find themselves in this situation.  And, in addition to all of our personal problems, the world scene has gone crazy.  Tornadoes, floods, wars and rumors of wars, strife, escalated violence, etc. are broadcast everyday into our living rooms.

What is the ANSWER to all of this? Who has the answer? — J E S U S!!

Reverend Billy Graham was always known for saying in his crusades, “Christ is the Answer.”  A scoffer once responded to that phrase by saying, “Pardon me, but what was the question?”  Well, my friend, it doesn’t make any difference what the question is – CHRIST IS THE ANSWER!!

Yes, the Lord is the answer and has the answer to all our questions.  So when your world, thoughts and circumstances come crashing in, turn to the Lord, stay close to Him.  He will provide you with the grace, strength and peace to get through those hard times.  And the Wonderful Holy Spirit, our Comforter, will sustain you with the help you need to make it through any storm in life.  Be encouraged today by the Word of God.

Psalms 46:1 – “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

Psalms 32:8 – “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go…”

Psalm 27:11 – “Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.”

Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

The Lord also provides us with spiritual weaponry to fight the good fight of faith during difficult times.  The Apostle Paul wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit the following:

Ephesians 6:10-17 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13) Wherefore take unto the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and have done all, to stand. 14) Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

KEEP STANDING AND BELIEVING – YOU ARE VICTORIOUS THROUGH JESUS!!
