Your Vote Counts!

Dear Friends,

The devotions posted here are always intended to encourage and help further your walk with the Lord.  Today is no exception.  However, this week I want to emphasize the impact you can make in the lives of many.

America is in a crisis and it is time for all Christians to unite to save our nation.  Only with God’s help can this be accomplished.  You and I have been entrusted by God to do the right thing at this time in history.  You personally can influence your household, the life of your neighbors, future generations and your state and nation.  We are all of equal influence when it comes to this one thing.  What can potentially have such a tremendous effect on everyone in our nation?

YOUR VOTE!!

We are blessed to live in America which was founded on principles allowing citizens to determine our governmental leaders through the voting process.  Our founding fathers wrote the Constitution and the Bill of Rights in such a manner, that it would empower and protect citizens to always have a voice in their government.

Also, let’s review what President Lincoln said in the Gettysburg Address:

“…that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain—that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom—and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

What determines your vote?  What is the foundation of your belief system? Is it your pocketbook, the economy, your personal likes or dislikes?  Or, perhaps the candidate is nice looking, slim, has a similar background, eloquent in speech, etc.  Too many votes are cast based on selfish or fleshly values.  Many politicians, journalists and media outlets are trying to sway your vote for their preference.  Have you been influenced by them?

Someone will always be disappointed with the outcome of the election, regardless of who wins.  Right now you are being bombarded with numerous voices vying for your attention and allegiance.  Whose voice is impressing you the most?

There is only one voice Christians should hear above any other and that is the voice of the Holy Spirit.  We are promised in John 10:27 that God’s sheep know His voice.  Are you listening to that still small voice?  God’s voice will never conflict with His Word.  Hopefully, you have enough knowledge of God’s Word that you recognize any agenda promoting anti-biblical values.  God’s Spirit will alert you to thoughts or ideas that are non-biblical (if you are listening).

Every Christian is accountable before the Lord for their choice of candidate.  There is no perfect candidate – all have their faults and shortcomings.  Don’t worry about being politically correct, be more concerned about being biblically correct.

For example, if your candidate approves of abortion, then your vote says you agree with murdering babies up to the very last day before birth!  One current candidate has declared that the unborn have no rights!  But, on the day of birth, however, that baby has all the rights of any American citizen.  What kind of twisted reasoning is that?

If your choice wants to divide Israel, then you also approve.  When we take a stand against Israel, God’s Word is very clear about the consequences.  Curses will be activated in your life.  However, there is good news!  When you bless Israel, blessings are coming your way!

Friend, you may object to God’s views, but He is God, not you!  And just because you have an opinion, that doesn’t change God’s Word.  So the wise thing to do is to agree with God because He has the last say.

Genesis 12:1-3 – “Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” KJV

This is serious business!!  Don’t take this lightly – these issues are paramount in God’s eyes and should be in yours.  Are you on the Lord’s side?  Is Jesus Lord of your life?  Or, is He just your Heaven insurance?  If He is truly Lord of your life — then you will seek His will on these issues.

PRAY!  PRAY!  PRAY!  Then vote for Biblical standards – the candidate you perceive is the closest to them.

Proverbs 29:2 – “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”  KJV

JUST ONE VOTE

Just one vote – does it really matter?
Some say “yes”, some say “no”, as they chatter
Most don’t comprehend the power of one,
It makes all the difference for days to come.

History has proven on vote to be effective,
It’s important for Christians to be selective,
Evil prevails when nothing good is done,
Your vote helps determine who has won.

Don’t get caught in all the strife – be wise.
Look at the real issues – don’t compromise.
Use your power of one vote – with God be in accord,
It’s a privilege to wield the voting sword.

Keep the principles of God in mind when you vote,
Review the political platforms – don’t just float.
Inform yourself what each candidate has in mind,
As you pray for God’s guidance – His peace you’ll find.

When the righteous rule, a nations is blessed,
Agree with God’s Word – and of Jesus confess,
Let your voice be heard – go to the poll – take a stand,
With strokes of a pen righteousness can rule our land!

  1. I vote for the current president because hes got good choice for Supreme Court and hes pro life..I stand with Trump..
