Devotions

The weekly devotions on this page are written by our staff, volunteers and those involved in intercessory prayer ministry. We are grateful for their contribution and heart after God.

A new devotion will be posted every Monday.

Rest In The Promises Of God

“…Thus says the Lord to you: Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” 2 Chronicles 20:15

What kind of struggle or battle are you facing today? Your battle may be external with children, parents, a job or lack of one, financial, or marriage just to name a few. We take on the concerns of life and we worry and fret. This causes sleepless nights and many sicknesses, and diseases that keep the medical community in business.

I love the simplicity of God’s Word! How simple, “the battle is not yours, but God’s.” It is God’s battle…IF you will give it to Him. The battle, the worry and the cares that keep you up at night, are God’s. Wow! Isn’t this great news??!!!

Do you realize that God can do a better job of fighting the battle than you? So give your cares to God. Hand them over to Him in prayer. Give them to Him, ASAP! Name each care, worry, or battle that plagues you and give them ALL to Him. I Peter 5:7–“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

Today, release ALL your worries to Him, and thank Him for the victory through Jesus!

Exodus 14:14 — “The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”

A-T-T-E-N-T-I-O-N

Sharon Couchman

As the Body of Christ and His representatives on this earth, we are to be alert, sharp, and awake spiritually. God has also called us to be watchers on the wall. Matthew 26:41 – “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” There is a call going forth from the throne of God to His people to pay attention! Signs are everywhere that we are in the end times. During these challenging days it is more important now than ever before to be attentive, stay focused, and listen to God. The Lord wants us as His people to be prepared for the future and not get caught off guard. Continue reading

In The Meantime

Sharon Couchman

All of us have experienced a “meantime or “in between” time. We have prayed and we believe God has heard, and then the “waiting” time begins. How long will it be? We soon realize that our waiting periods vary in length. Often this can be a time of much frustration and questioning. However, regardless of the duration of the waiting time, it inevitably stretches and tests us in the areas of faith, trust and patience. Continue reading

Rest In The Lord

Sharon Couchman

Do you have problems resting??  You’re not alone!  Why is it so hard for some to rest?  Many today are frenzied, driven by fear, anxiety, or the pursuit of money.  Some jobs are very demanding and require an extreme amount of hours.  “Downers” are being used to go to sleep and “uppers” are used to wake up from too little sleep!  As Christians, we look to Jesus as our example for every area of our life.  Our Lord led a perfect life so let’s consider His lifestyle regarding rest.
