Couple Aborts Baby Because of Deformed Hand

An Australian couple announced they aborted their healthy baby because doctors said that he would have a deformed hand.

The baby, who would have had no problem living a full life with good health, would have had a problem with a “cleft” left hand.

The couple, known as “Frank” and “Cindy”, said that they thought it might be possible the child would have a “difficult” life and that other children would be making fun of him.

“I grew up with many people who were disabled, and… there was discrimination,” “Cindy” said. “I didn’t want my child to be discriminated against. The problem is… obvious because it is the fingers, and I think the child would have a very hard life.”

The couple said that they feel relieved.

“We were being told that our only option was to give birth to a baby that we did not wish to give birth to at all. We felt we have been forgotten and abandoned through the political and judicial uncertainty of the abortion laws,” Frank said.

Doctors made a point to note there was nothing life threatening about the child’s condition.

Court Rules North Carolina Ultrasound Law “Free Speech Violation”

The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld a lower court ruling that struck down North Carolina’s law requiring mothers to obtain an ultrasound prior to killing their child via abortion.

The court agreed with the lower court that the requirement is unconstitutional because it violates the “right to free speech.”

North Carolina lawmakers passed the Women’s Right to Know Act in 2011, which required women to obtain an ultrasound prior to an abortion, and that the abortionist describe the child’s features to the mother, as well as offer the opportunity to listen to the baby’s heartbeat.  The governor at the time, Beverly Purdue vetoed the bill because of her endorsement of abortion.  The legislators overruled the veto.

Mega-abortionist Planned Parenthood, the ACLU and the Center For Reproductive Rights sued to block the law and it was struck down by Obama-appointed U.S. District Judge Catherine Eagles as “an impermissible attempt to compel providers to deliver the state’s message in favor of childbirth and against abortion.”

“This compelled speech, even though it is a regulation of the medical profession, is ideological in intent and in kind,” the panel wrote in support of Eagles’ ruling. “The First Amendment not only protects against prohibitions of speech, but also against regulations that compel speech. A regulation compelling speech is by its very nature content-based, because it requires the speaker to change the content of his speech or even to say something where he would otherwise be silent.”

Attorney General Roy Cooper, who said he personally opposes the law, said he will appeal because it’s his responsibility to defense state law regardless of his personal beliefs.

Supreme Court Blocks Arizona Abortion Law

The Supreme Court is blocking Arizona from enforcing restrictions on medical abortions while a series of court challenges works through lower courts.

The ruling by the Court upheld a lower court ruling that blocked the rules regulating where women can take abortion-inducing drugs.  Abortion-inducing drugs would also be prohibited after the 7th week of pregnancy instead of the current restriction of the 9th week.

The liberal-leaning 9th Circuit Court of Appeals blocked the state of putting the restrictions in place while the legal challenges are taking place.  North Dakota, Ohio and Texas have similar laws to Arizona.

Abortionist Planned Parenthood says that drug conducted abortions for more than 40 percent of abortions in their abortion centers.

The Arizona restrictions were put into place following the deaths of 8 women who had taken the drugs.  The FDA claims there is no connection between the drugs and the deaths.

Oklahoma Abortionist Arrested For Scamming Women

An abortionist who has been operating since the 1980s is facing charges connected to providing abortion-inducing drugs to women who were not actually pregnant.

Nareshkumar G. Patel of Warr Acres, Oklahoma was arrested in his clinic and taken ot the Oklahoma County jail for processing.

“This type of fraudulent activity and blatant disregard for the health and well-being of Oklahoma women will not be tolerated,” said Attorney General Scott Pruitt  “Oklahoma women should be able to trust that the advice they receive from their physicians is truthful, accurate and does not jeopardize their health.”

The investigation was sparked by the death from cancer of a woman named Pamela King.  During her autopsy, it was discovered she had not been pregnant at a time she had an abortion performed by Patel.

An undercover investigation sent in three women who were not pregnant.  Patel told the women after an ultrasound that they were pregnant and charged them $620 for abortion inducing drugs.

Patel has been the center of controversy in the past.  In 1992 he burned 55 fetuses in a field near Shawnee, Oklahoma, and was never charged by police for his action.

Researchers Use Fetal Cells To Create “Supermouse”

Scientists have used the cells from aborted babies to create a mouse that has a brain that is “half human.”

“Researchers took the immature glial cells from donated human fetuses and injected them into mouse pups,” the New Scientist reports. “The cells developed into star-shaped glial cells known as astrocytes. 300,000 human cells were injected into each mouse, but 12 months later that number had increased to 12 million. The mouse’s own glial cells had been driven out by human astrocytes which are up to 20 times larger than those in mice.”

The scientists would not confirm that the tissue used came from aborted children.

The reports say that the “half human” mice showed significantly higher intelligence than their all mouse counterparts.

The scientists said they had considered using monkeys for the tests but stayed with mice “due to ethical concerns.”

Woman Praises God For Changing Mind On Abortion

A British woman has been telling everyone that God is great after Christians gave her the hope to save the life of her child rather than going through with an abortion.

Suzan Briggs, 27, named her now 8-month-old daughter Miracle.

Briggs told the BBC that she had scheduled an abortion because she already had three children and didn’t think she could handle a fourth child.  She arrived at the appointment only to be met by members of the pro-life group Abort 67.

“They started preaching the word of God and telling me abortions aren’t good,” she told the BBC. “They told me God would help me and give me strength.  I tried not to listen to them, but they were praying for me and I was crying and shaking.  The way they talked to me gave me faith and their encouragement made me decide to keep the baby.”

But the group didn’t just talk her out of the abortion and leave her hanging.  The group stayed in touch with Briggs, bringing her clothes for the baby and other supplies she needed to get through her pregnancy.

“When I finally saw my daughter, I thought, ‘How could I have wanted to terminate this baby?’” she explained. “Everybody says she’s so cute. When they say that, I thank God I didn’t do it.”

Michigan House Approves Religious Freedom Restoration Act

The Michigan House of Representatives has passed a state version of the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act despite outcry from anti-Christian groups in the state.

The bill, HB5958, cleared the House Judiciary Committee 7-4 and passed the full House 59-50.  The Senate now picks up the bill for consideration.

The bill was introduced in the state house because the federal law, signed into law in 1993 by President Bill Clinton, only applies to federal issues.  Legislators in Michigan wanted to make sure Christians and other people of faith had their rights protected from state groups and organizations.

The statute reads: “The free exercise of religion is an inherent, fundamental, and unalienable right secured by Article 1 of the state Constitution of 1963 and the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.”

The bill is in response to anti-Christian groups that want to eliminate Christians and people of faith from being able to exercise their rights in society.

“I support individual liberty and I support religious freedom,” House Speaker Jase Bolger (R) declared Thursday to the Judiciary Committee. “I have been horrified as some have claimed that a person’s faith should only be practiced while hiding in their home or in their church.”

NY Man Forces Woman To Take Abortion Pill

A New York anesthesiologist is under arrest after police say he forced a woman to take an abortion pill.

Thomas Pfeiffer, 44, reportedly grabbed a woman by the throat, choking her until she opened her mouth.  When she did, he forced an abortion pill into her mouth and made her swallow it.

The woman had told Pfeiffer that she was pregnant because she had taken a home pregnancy test that returned a positive result.

Pfeiffer faces charges of strangulation, abortion and assault.  The strangulation and abortion charges are second degree felonies.  He was placed in county jail on $50,000 bond.

The woman was treated and released from an area hospital.  Police would not release if the woman suffered an abortion because of the drug.

Man Convicted Of Murder Of Girl Who Refused Abortion

A young girl’s decision to give life to her unborn child resulted in her losing her own.

Now a New York man will be going to prison for her killing.

A jury deliberated about an hour before convicting 22-year-old Christian Ferdinand on a second degree murder charge in the death of 14-year-old Shaniesha Forbes.  Ferdinand met the girl on Facebook in 2012 and met up with her for sex.  She text messaged him a few months later saying she was pregnant with his child and would not abort the baby.

“Are you serious? Kill that [expletive],” Ferdinand texted back to her.  He then killed the teen when she met him at his cousin’s house by smothering her with a pillow.  He then stuffed the girl’s body into a suitcase, burned it and then threw it into lake.

“He intentionally smothered a 14-year-old girl to death and burned her body to get rid of the evidence,” prosecutor Robert Walsh told jurors on Monday. “He had a problem that needed solving. He didn’t want to pay child support, and Shaniesha got in the way.”

Ferdinand actually told investigators he didn’t think the killing was a big deal.  He asked them if they could just give him community service for the murder.

He faces 25 years in prison.  Ironically, the medical examiner said it was likely the girl was not pregnant in the first place.

District of Columbia Delays Abortion Coverage Vote

A bill to force all business owners in the District of Columbia to provide abortion coverage to employees regardless of their faith beliefs has been delayed.

The “Reproductive Health Non-Discrimination Amendment Act of 2014” was pulled on Tuesday afternoon.  The bill was introduced in the wake of the Hobby Lobby Supreme Court decision that said the government could not force business owners to pay for abortion coverage.

“The council seems to have heard the voices warning them not to waste D.C. taxpayer dollars promoting the abortion lobby’s interests,” said Casey Mattox of the Alliance Defending Freedom.  “There is simply no prospect that a court would uphold a bill forcing D.C. prolife non-profits to pay for abortions. The D.C. Council has wisely stepped back from the ledge and – for now – respected fundamental freedoms and avoided raiding taxpayers’ paychecks.”

Pro-abortion organizations had hailed the bill and the infringement on the religious freedom of business owners to advance abortion including NARAL Pro-Choice America.

Pro-life groups contacted the members of the city government to inform them that the bill would be a violation of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.
