The Centers for Disease Control has reported that over 200 babies are aborted for every 1,000 that are born in America.
Roughly one abortion for every five live births.
The report covers all 50 states for the year 2011. The study found that 730,322 women killed their babies via abortion that year. A study released by Planned Parenthood that year celebrated their ending the lives of 333,964 babies…meaning that the organization killed over 46% of the children who died via abortion.
“Among the 37 areas that reported by marital status for 2011, 14.5% of all women who obtained an abortion were married and 85.5% were unmarried,” the report states. “The abortion ratio was 43 abortions per 1,000 live births for married women and 373 abortions per 1,000 live births for unmarried women.”
The study also showed a shocking amount of teenagers are ending up pregnant and seeking abortions.
“In 2011, adolescents aged … 15–19 years accounted for … 13.5% of all abortions,” it said, “and had abortion rates of … 10.5 abortions per 1,000 adolescents aged … 15–19 years.”
The study did not include the number of women who died in 2011 from obtaining an abortion.
A march in Spain against abortion drew tens of thousands of people into the capital city of Madrid.
“Yes to life! No to abortion!” the tens of thousands of marchers chanted outside the headquarters of the Popular Party, the controlling party in the nation.
The leaders of the march wanted to get the message through to the ruling party that they will lose tens of thousands of voters if they allow abortions in the country to increase or back off on their vows to restrict the process in the country.
Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy abandoned efforts to completely ban abortion because his party could not reach a consensus.
“As president of the government I have taken the most sensible decision,” he said. “We can’t have a law that will be changed when another government comes in.”
The march’s leaders used evidence from around the world to prove restrictions that were opposed by members of the ruling party had no merit. One such example came from former U.S. Surgeon General C. Everett Coop.
“Protection of the life of the mother as an excuse for an abortion is a smoke screen. In my 36 years of pediatric surgery, I have never known of one instance where the child had to be aborted to save the mother’s life,” Koop stated. “If toward the end of the pregnancy complications arise that threaten the mother’s health, the doctor will induce labor or perform a Caesarean section. His intention is to save the life of both the mother and the baby. The baby’s life is never willfully destroyed because the mother’s life is in danger.”
A new website has been launched by two pro-life groups that will allow consumers to find out if the health care plans they are buying actually include charges which will pay for abortions.
The Family Research Council and the Charlotte Lozier Institute announced the launch of ObamacareAbortion.com at a Thursday press event on Capitol Hill. Representative Chris Smith of New Jersey spoke at the event and condemned the federal healthcare exchange for not providing the information.
“Once again, health consumers are almost clueless as to which plans fund abortion on demand and which do not,” Smith said. “That is why ObamacareAbortion.com is an extraordinarily useful new tool for healthcare consumers. … The Obama administration’s cover-up of abortion insurance plans on the exchange is unnecessary, unacceptable and absolutely unconscionable. Consumers have the right to know. Abortion is not healthcare. It dismembers and chemically poisons defenseless unborn children and hurts women.”
The research from the ground found that in nine states that 90 percent of the health care plans cover abortions. Until last week, Connecticut had no plans that did not include abortion in some way.
“It is virtually impossible to know what your plan entails in other states,” said Kerri Kupec of Alliance Defending Freedom to The Christian Post. “Even if you are not living in these four states, you could very well be living in another state that includes these surcharges and you don’t even know about it. That is why the work of Family Research Council and Charlotte Lozier Institute is absolutely crucial to taking down this web of secrecy.”
Pope Francis is speaking out against euthanasia calling it a “sin against God” and saying that anyone who endorses it supports a “false sense of compassion.”
“We’re are living in a time of experimentation with life. But a bad experiment… (we’re) playing with life,” the Pope said to a conference of 4,000 doctors. “Be careful, because this is a sin against the Creator: against God the Creator.”
The Pope’s remarks are seen to have been a response to a woman who ended her life in Oregon after being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.
The Pope also blasted abortion as being the same as euthanasia. He said it was like telling God “I do it, like I want.’ It’s a sin against God. Think well about this.”
The Pope acknowledged the doctors can be placed in a tough situation.
“Your mission as doctors puts you in daily contact with so many forms of suffering,” he said.
However, the Pope said, they need to be “courageous and against-the-grain” in standing for live and refusing to participate in euthanasia and abortion.
A group dedicated to lives of unborn children has taken over the space of the abortionist group Planned Parenthood.
40 Days For Life says that over 6,400 children died in the building they are taking over in Bryan/College Station, Texas. The building is the same location where the group first began their program of 40 days of prayer, fasting and peaceful vigil outside abortionists.
“More than 6,400 children lost their lives in this building, but God is making ‘all things new.’ What was once a place of death and despair is now going to be a place of life and hope. We are excited to start using this location to aid the rapid worldwide growth of 40 Days for Life, and to help other cities become abortion-free,” said the movement’s campaign director, Shawn Carney, in a release Thursday. “This news shows what God can accomplish when His people pray.”
Part of the renovation of the building will be a crisis pregnancy center to help women who will chose to give life to their unborn children.
Carney said that 40 Days of Life is committed to working with life-saving pregnancy resource centers.
The North Dakota Supreme Court upheld a state law that limits abortion drugs.
The court reversed the ruling of a lower court judge last year that said the law violated the state constitution.
“Beginning tomorrow morning, there will not be any medication abortions in North Dakota,” said David Brown, an attorney for the Center for Reproductive Rights.
The North Dakota law says that no drugs can be used to induce abortions that are not approved for that use by the FDA. The North Dakota clinic involved in the lawsuit uses misoprostol as part of their process, which is not approved by the FDA for abortions. The drug is a treatment for stomach ulcers.
A spokeswoman for the Fargo abortionists say about 20 percent of their abortions each year are done with drugs.
North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem praised the court’s decision and said the state will wait to see what the abortionists do before deciding how to proceed with the case
One of the most virulent anti-Christian organizations in the nation has been discovered to have its roots in the pro-abortion lobby.
The Freedom From Religion Foundation, which targets Christians all over the country in an attempt to bully them into silence, was started in 1976 as part of the pro-abortion movement according to Madison, Wisconsin’s Isthmus newspaper.
“[FFRF] grew out of the reproductive rights movement after the Gaylors saw legislative hearings packed with Catholic nuns, priests and schoolchildren and concluded religion was the root of women’s inequality,” Isthmus reported.
Anne Gaylor once wrote fundraising letters bragging about abortions being given to 13-year-old and 12-year-old girls.
“The Freedom From Religion Foundation is not just about abolishing Christianity,” Steve McConkey of the ministry 4 WINDS said. “What they really desire is to eliminate biblical standards that Christians uphold. This is obvious when you see the connection to abortion.”
“This is an organization that not only has a hatred for Christianity, but a desire to see the most innocent harmed,” he warned. “They were founded on the principles of the Zero Population craze in the 70s. If they indirectly push the silent holocaust of abortion, they are no different than other evil movements that have eliminated innocent people in history.”
“We must remember we are in a spiritual battle,” McConkey told the Christian News. “The enemy blinds the eyes of people, especially as time progresses toward the end. Look at the world today—the lack of absolutes has created an open door for every kind of evil and can lead to evil leaders exploiting people. Evil builds if not checked by God’s absolutes.”
A Christian woman who gave birth to a child born without eyes says that she is very thankful that she chose to give her child life.
Lacey and Chris Buchanan were thrilled in 2010 when they discovered God has blessed them with a child. As Lacey went through her medical checkups, it was discovered that the baby boy would have a cleft palate and lip.
“Our little boy was diagnosed with a bilateral cleft palate and lip,” she told reporters. “We were crushed. How could this happen to us? Why did this happen to us?”
When the child was born via C-section in February 2011, there was a discovery that even the doctors had not seen ahead of time: the baby was born without eyes.
“Any time we took Christian out in public, people would stare,” Buchanan remembered. “They would whisper behind my back, ‘Look at that baby!’ I even had one girl telling me I was a horrible person for not aborting Christian.”
“I have literally had strangers see a single picture of Christian on Facebook and say ‘If i saw that kid walking down the street, I would murder him.’ They judge that Christian’s life isn’t worth living based on one single picture,” Buchanan writes on her website. “But most of you who know him know how awesome he is and how loved he is and how great his quality of life is.”
Lacey says that God has really used Christian to touch the lives of others and that she knows “I did the right thing by not aborting Christian.”
An Irish couple are speaking out after the birth of their healthy baby boy that doctors had pressured them to abort, claiming that he had abnormalities.
Melanie and Damien Sheehan told the Christian Institute in the UK about the ordeal that began with a 20-week scan of the baby. The doctors said that the baby had “severe abnormalities” such as the brain and the spinal cord not being formed.
“They felt that the child wouldn’t survive birth and if it did, it would be so profoundly disabled that, their words were, ‘it would have no quality of life,’” Melanie recalled. “I was put under immense pressure to go ahead with the abortion.”
“I had phone calls to my mobile and my house phone to tell me how many days, weeks that I had left till my 24-week cut-off [to have an abortion],” she continued. “Whenever we went to appointments, the nurse in charge of the consultant would introduce us as ‘the couple who was continuing with the pregnancy against medical advice.’ We were made to feel that we were doing something terribly wrong by wanting to keep our baby.”
Their baby Joshua was born completely healthy.
“The doctors said that Joshua would be incompatible with life, and now he is sixteen weeks old and he’s brilliant,” Damien said. “He’s doing everything that he should be doing. He’s the best thing that’s happened to our family. We couldn’t imagine our family without him now. Just to see the joy and the love that he brings to the house.”
The pro-life organization Live Action held a rally outside Planned Parenthood in Washington, DC, calling for pro-lifers across the nation to call for the government to stop funding the abortionists.
The group said the government gave $500 million taxpayer dollars to the country’s largest abortion provider.
Live Action says that in addition to the abortion services, Planned Parenthood is using taxpayer dollars to teach dangerous sexual practices to underage children.
“[Planned Parenthood] is a $2.1 billion corporation that has a dangerous sexual agenda for teens,” Lila Rose of Live Action said at the event.
“Someone has to draw attention to it,” added Live Action’s Drew Belsky. “We decided that it should be us.”
“Mother Teresa, an expert on peace who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, said that ‘the greatest destroyer of peace in the world is the cry of the innocent unborn child.’ The womb, which should be a safe, secure place, has become a war zone,” Rose told the crowd.
