Taliban Kill Five In Attacks On British Diplomats & Compounds

The Taliban attacked a British convoy on Thursday killing five people.

The homicide bomb attack focused on a vehicle from the British embassy and killed two embassy workers, one British and one Afghani.

The attack wounded at least 30 bystanders.

“I am deeply saddened to confirm that a British national civilian security team member and an Afghan national working for the embassy were killed in the incident,” Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said in a statement.

The blast was the first of the day.  A second blast a few hours later struck at a compound run by a contractor for the U.S. aid agency in the country.  It shook buildings throughout the diplomatic section of Kabul and was the start of an hour long shootout between terrorists and Afghani security forces.

A foreign national and two terrorists died in the second explosion.

There have been five major terrorist attacks by the Taliban this week.

Seven Dead From Great Lakes Storm

At least seven people are confirmed dead from the massive snowstorm that slammed several Great Lakes states.

The storm has dumped massive amounts of snow on New York including six feet of snow on the Buffalo area.  A state of emergency exists for 10 counties in New York.

“This storm is an extraordinarily difficult situation, with snowfall that may break records. We are prepared, but we need residents to stay off the roads so that first responders can do their work and keep people safe,” New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo said.

“Although the sun may be shining, we are using this opening to clear roads before the snow begins falling again. This is an opportunity to be a good neighbor and check on your fellow New Yorkers to see if they need assistance, but I urge everyone to stay off the road.”

One of the deaths was a 46-year-old man found inside a buried car. A Pennsylvania man was killed when a high lift attempting to free the man’s car ended up pinning him to the car.

Forecasters say that another two to three feet of snow could hit the Buffalo area.

Fifth Person Dies From Terror Attack On Jerusalem Synagogue

An Israeli police officer has died from injuries sustained during the terrorist attack Tuesday at a Jerusalem synagogue.

The terrorist group Hamas is claiming that the attack was revenge for the killing of a Palestinian bus driver on Sunday despite the fact it was proven by multiple sources the bus driver committed suicide.

Hamas dismissed all the evidence that Yussuf al-Ramuni killed himself and said the death had to be caused by Jewish settlers.

“I strongly condemn today’s terrorist attack on worshipers at a synagogue in Jerusalem, which killed four innocent people, including U.S. citizens Aryeh Kupinsky, Cary William Levine, and Mosheh Twersky, and injured several more,” Obama said in an official White House statement.

“There is and can be no justification for such attacks against innocent civilians. The thoughts and prayers of the American people are with the victims and families of all those who were killed and injured in this horrific attack and in other recent violence.”

Netanyahu Demands World Condemn Palestinian Terror

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is calling on world leaders to finally end their excuses for Palestinian terror attacks on Israelis and condemn Mahmoud Abbas for inciting violence against innocent civilians.

Netanyahu pointed out that the Palestinian Authority has been routinely spreading false statements to incite anger toward Israel.

“Hamas, the Islamic Jihad, and the PA are spreading false rumors, saying we are defiling the Temple Mount, that we plan to destroy holy sites — those are all lies,” Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu noted the Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas condemned the attack but noted that in the same statement also included false propaganda about the Israeli government.

“I urge all world leaders… I want to see shock, utter denunciation of terrorism, of the murder of Jews in their prayer shawls,” Netanyahu said.

Muslim Terrorists Attack Jerusalem Synagogue

Two Palestinian terrorists attacked a synagogue during morning prayers and left death and destruction in their wake.

Four people are confirmed dead and at eight others injured when the Muslim terrorists charged into the synagogue with meat cleavers and at least one gun Tuesday morning.  The terrorists then died in a gun battle with police after their attack on innocent civilians.

The Muslim terrorists were identified as cousins Ghassan and Uday Abu Jamal.

Three of the dead held joint U.S.-Israeli citizenship.  The fourth held dual British-Israeli citizenship.

“The gentleman I tended to first still had his tefillin on. There were also women there who didn’t know where their husbands were, and others who didn’t know where their father was. Those were most likely the ones killed. It was very hard to deal with, very upsetting,” a first responder told Haaretz newspaper.

“I looked up and saw someone shooting people at point-blank range. Then someone came in with what looked like a butcher’s knife and he went wild,” Yosef Posternak, who was in the synagogue praying when the attack started, told Israel Radio. “I saw people lying on the floor, blood everywhere. People were trying to fight with [the attackers] but they didn’t have much of a chance.”

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry quickly condemned the attack.

“Innocent people who had come to worship died in the sanctuary of a synagogue,” a visibly upset Kerry told reporters.  “They were hatcheted, hacked and murdered in that holy place in an act of pure terror and senseless brutality and murder. I call on Palestinians at every single level of leadership to condemn this in the most powerful terms. This violence has no place anywhere, particularly after the discussion that we just had the other day in Amman.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed Israel would “respond harshly” to the attack.

Terrorists Behead American Aid Workers

Islamic terrorist group ISIS has beheaded another captive and posted the video on the internet.

Peter Kassig is the third American to be brutally slaughtered by the murderers.

Kassig, 26, had served in the Iraq War and became motivated to make a difference in the lives of the Iraqis after the war ended.  He had founded a group called SERA (Special Emergency Response and Assistance) which delivered food and medical supplies to refugee camps near the Syrian and Iraqi border.

Kassig had written to his parents stating he feared being killed.

“I am obviously pretty scared to die but the hardest part is not knowing, wondering, hoping, and wondering if I should even hope at all,” Kassig said. “I am very sad that all this has happened and for what all of you back home are going through. If I do die, I figure that at least you and I can seek refuge and comfort in knowing that I went out as a result of trying to alleviate suffering and helping those in need.”

The Obama administration confirmed that the video was genuine.

Second Death Among American Treated Ebola Patients

The second Ebola victim treated in the United States has died.

Dr. Martin Salia died Monday morning while being treated at the Biocontainment Unit at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.  A hospital spokesman said that Dr. Salia died around 4 a.m. Monday.

Officials close to the case say that Dr. Salia was already critical when he arrived at the facility, including being in kidney and respiratory failure.

“Dr. Salia was extremely critical when he arrived here, and unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we weren’t able to save him,” said Dr. Phil Smith, medical director of the biocontainment unit.  “We used every possible treatment available to give Dr. Salia every possible opportunity for survival.  As we have learned, early treatment with these patients is essential. In Dr. Salia’s case, his disease was already extremely advanced by the time he came here for treatment.”

Salia’s wife said she was thankful the U.S. State Department worked to bring her husband to Nebraska to help him fight for his life.

“We are so appreciative of the opportunity for my husband to be treated here and believe he was in the best place possible,” Isatu Salia said.

Terrorist Bomber Kills 48 Students In Nigeria

A homicide terrorist bomber has killed 48 students at a high school in Nigeria.

Local officials say that Boko Haram is behind the attack on the students.

“We were waiting for the principal to address us, around 7:30 a.m., when we heard a deafening sound and I was blown off my feet, people started screaming and running, I saw blood all over my body,” said 17-year-old student Musa Ibrahim Yahaya to The Associated Press.

The death toll is at least 48 with 79 injured.

A wounded teacher told officials at a hospital that the terrorist had dressed as a student and walked into the assembly ground with the students.

Boko Haram, whose name means “western education is sinful”, has repeatedly attacked schools.

South Korean Ferry Captain Sentenced To 36 Years

The captain of a South Korean ferry which capsized and killed more than 300 people, mostly students, will be spending at least the next three decades behind bars.

Captain Lee Joon-seok was convicted of gross negligence but was surprisingly acquitted of homicide connected to the deaths of the passengers.

The captain had fled the ship when it began sinking rather than staying behind to try and rescue the teenagers and passengers trapped below the water line.

Family members of the students who drowned were furious with the verdict and the sentencing, saying that the sentence was too lenient and that it was unconscionable that the captain was not found guilty of homicide in abandoning the passengers.

The ship’s engineer was convicted of homicide only on the part of two ship’s employees that he left behind when the fled the ship.  He was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Myles Munroe Killed In Plane Crash

The senior pastor of Bahamas Faith Ministries International Fellowship is dead after a plane crash in the Bahamas.

Myles Munroe was killed along with his wife, daughter and six others when their plane struck a construction crane in a shipyard next to the airport and crashed into a junkyard.  No one on the plane survived.

Munroe was leading a Global Leadership Forum that included world leaders such as ambassadors to the United Nations.

“He was indisputably one of the most globally recognizable religious figures our nation has ever produced,” Bahamian Prime Minister Perry Christie said of Munroe. “His fame as an ambassador for the Christian ministry preceded him wherever in the world he traveled, whether in the Caribbean, North America, Asia, Europe or Africa.”

The Associated Press says that severe weather had an impact on the crash.
