British authorities have determined the identity of the masked ISIS member who has beheaded several captives in online videos.
The terrorist has been identified as Mohammed Emwazi, in his mid to late 20s and crossed into Syria sometime during 2012. Emwazi was born in Kuwait but grew up with a wealthy family in West London and obtained a college degree in computer programming. After graduating from college, he became more radicalized and left to join jihad.
British officials are admitting they had been watching Emwazi for at least five years after returning from a job with a computer company in Kuwait. He was imprisoned by British officials when he returned to the country.
“I had a job waiting for me and marriage to get started,” the BBC reports Emwazi as writing in a June 2010 email. “[But now] I feel like a prisoner, only not in a cage, in London, a person imprisoned and controlled by security service men, stopping me from living my new life in my birthplace and country, Kuwait.”
He escaped to Syria in 2012.
Prime Minister David Cameron declined to comment on the identity of the terrorist.
A North Carolina Muslim has admitted that he was going to fight with terrorist groups.
Akba Jihad Jordan was arrested earlier this year with his friend Avin Marsalis Brown when they talked with an undercover FBI agent about joining jihad. They told the agent about weapons they have in their possession and that they would use them against the United States.
Jordan was arrested on the same day Brown was arrested at Raleigh Durham International airport attempting to fly to Turkey. Jordan had an appointment scheduled to get his passport so he could leave the country.
“Akba Jordan turned his back on his own country and was willing to fight side by side with terrorist groups in Yemen and Syria who wish to do us harm,” John Strong, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI in North Carolina, said in a statement following the hearing. “American citizens who offer support to terrorist organizations pose a grave threat to our national security and will face serious consequences for their actions.”
Jordan pleaded guilty to conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists. He could face up to 15 years in prison.
A video leaked online from the Chicago Islamic Center shows a local imam telling those in attendance to “wage jihad” against Israel “for the sake of Allah.”
The clips of the video were released by the Middle East Media Research Institute showing the rant from Sheikh Mohamed Elimam in July.
“Oh, those of you who want to wage jihad for the sake of Allah, Palestine is calling you and Gaza is crying out for your help,” he declares. “If you are true believers, real mujahideen, hasten to Palestine. The enemy was planted in the midst of the Arab nation and they chose Jerusalem, Palestine—the most important area—in order to be a thorn in the side of the Arab and Islamic nations. May Allah pull this thorn out and stick it down their throats. May they be sent back to their countries in shame and disgrace, Allah willing.”
The video shows those in attendance chanting for the destruction of Israel and the murder of Jews.
The similar message was delivered to the crowd at a pro-Hamas rally in Miami that led to a Jewish photographer having to flee because of the threat of violence.
A group of pro-terrorist protesters began chanting slogans such as “We are Hamas!” as they marched through Miami.
The demonstration, sponsored by groups like the Council on American-Islamic Relations Florida and the Islamic Circle of North America, was supposed to be a “stop the bombing” march.
The event started on topic with chants of “no more killing; no more war” but changed into Islamic chants of “Allahu Akbar” and “we are jihad!”
The crowd assaulted a Jewish photographer who was sent to cover the event when his Jewish faith was discovered. Several protesters threated to kill the photographer because he was “a Jew.” They used multiple Jewish slurs as they harassed the man until he left the area.
A local reporter covering the event said she found it chilling to see hate-filled Jihadists controlling streets in Miami and threatening someone because they were Jewish.
