A 15-year-old boy in Kyrgyzstan has died of bubonic plague in the first known case of the plague inside the country in 30 years.

Doctors believe that an infected flea bit the teen. More than 2,000 people have been tested for the plague with more than 100 being placed in quarantine. Antibiotics are being offered to anyone within the region. Continue reading →
