A Powerful Message from A Powerful Woman

In all my years in Christian television, I’ve never met a woman like Brigitte Gabriel.

I’ve had the chance to interview some exceptional people on my shows — politicians, entertainers  from all walks of life, and a multitude of preachers and prophetic voices — but I have never heard a story as powerful as hers. I talk about how our entire world can be turned upside down in an instant, how quickly we can lose nearly everything we know, and here is a remarkable woman who has lived through it all. Shorey talks food security during Grace Street seminar

John Shorey thought he was doing a commendable job of preparing for the trials of the last days.

The author had been storing food for several years, and knew he had enough tucked safely away to feed 30 people for four years. In a pinch, he said he probably could have been able to feed 50.

A few months ago, however, Shorey asked God exactly how many hungry people would come to him for help in the days ahead. Shorey thought he’d get some words of encouragement, with God saying his estimates were right on par. Instead, Shorey received a much different response.

“A number came into my mind so loud, it was not the audible voice of God, but it was as close as you could get,” Shorey recalled on Monday morning. “And the number was 100.”

Shorey made the comments as he delivered a food security seminar on Grace Street, the first of three preparation talks he is scheduled to give this week at Morningside. The story underlined one of the main messages of his address, that one can never have enough food stored away.

“It’s almost going to be impossible to have too much, because the measure of your preparedness will be the measure of how many people you can help,” Shorey said. “If you can help more people with more resources, how can you be too prepared? How can you have too much food?”

Shorey talks about storing food in his books, which include “The Window of the Lord’s Return” and “Unlocking the Mystery of the Book of Revelation,” though he used Monday’s seminar to offer tips that preppers can use to ensure they have enough food for the coming days.

He noted Christians might be asked to feed people who are outside their immediate families.

“What are you going to do when your neighbors and their kids show up at your door hungry and starving?” Shorey told the crowd. “Are you going to turn them away? When Jesus fed the 5,000 and they were hungry (Matthew 14:13-21), did he turn them away? No, he didn’t turn them away. … How we act and how we reach out to help people in the last days is going to determine whether or not God looks at you and says ‘Well done, thou good and faithful servant.’”

Shorey said simply having food wasn’t enough.

Preppers needed a good hiding spot to prevent their food from being stolen or confiscated, and they should also explore gardening and canning to help generate and preserve new harvests.

“I don’t care how much food you think you have stored,” Shorey said. “If you don’t have a means of replenishing that food, you can easily run out.”

He suggested that people should not keep any more than 25 percent of their food exposed to the naked eye. That way, if people should come to take their food, the majority of it will be hidden.

Shorey also suggested purchasing seeds, fertilizer and gardening tools to help them grow new food. He said canning those fruits and vegetables would help add to their shelf life, but warned of the potential health risks of improper canning, such as botulism. He encouraged people to research canning and practice it — and gardening — before they have to rely on them for food.

“If you wait until you need it until you practice, you could be in trouble,” Shorey cautioned.

Shorey also encouraged people to make sure they had enough rice, beans, wheat and oatmeal in their stockpiles, calling them the “staples of food storage” because of their lengthy shelf lives.

Successful gardens will help preppers slow down the consumption of those stockpiles, he said.

According to Shorey, there’s more to food security than stockpiling, gardening and canning.

Shorey said faith is also a key component, sharing Biblical messages of God’s ability to multiply food — such as the feeding of the 5,000. He believes God will do the same for those who share their food in the days ahead, and noted that feeding 100 is “impossible” for him, but not for God.

“We have to believe and trust God that as we do our part, God will do his part,” Shorey said.

Shorey is scheduled to give preparation seminars titled “The Preppers Top 10 Keys to Survival” and “Last-Minute Prepping” this Wednesday and Thursday. The seminars are set to begin at 11 a.m. and will be live-streamed on jimbakkershow.com and the PTL Television Network on Roku.

Sellman shares health tips during Grace Street seminar

About 20 years ago, Dr. Sherrill Sellman was battling with all kinds of health problems.

She was battling arthritis, severe allergies and thyroid issues. She had trouble sleeping, and would often wake up in the middle of the night experiencing night sweats and anxiety attacks.

Looking back on it all, Sellman wouldn’t have had it any other way.

She views those challenges as a blessing from God, because it forced her to search for answers.

That search led Sellman to a career in naturopathic medicine, a holistic branch that focuses on using natural remedies to prevent and treat illnesses. She’s now a doctor, published author and radio host who uses her knowledge to give health advice and tips to women around the globe.

Her latest stop was Grace Street, where she held a women’s health seminar on Tuesday morning.

The seminar, “The Rejuvenation Code: Unlocking the Code to an Ageless Body,” focused on how naturopathic remedies like vitamins, food and meditation can be used to improve one’s health.

She said she was able to recover from her problems without visiting a traditional medical doctor, who she suspects would have likely prescribed antibiotics and other medicines rather than focusing on a naturopathic method that caters toward the body’s natural ability to restore itself.

“All those conditions are gone,” Sellman recalled of her health challenges. “I don’t have any of those symptoms. In fact, I’m healthier now than I was 20 years ago. If I can do it, you can do it.”

Sellman said there is a difference between a person’s chronological age, the number of years they have been on this planet, and their biological age, or how well their body is functioning.

By eating healthy and making good lifestyle choices, Sellman told the crowd of women gathered on Grace Street they could lower their biological age as their chronological age increased.

“It’s so easy to say ‘Oh, you know, I’m just getting older. This ache in my finger, it’s just because I’m getting older. I just have to put up with all these things,’” she told those in attendance. “I want you to know and my message today is that is not true and never accept those things.”

She said it’s never too late for women to start lowering their biological age, pointing to an example of one woman who celebrated her 100th birthday by skydiving.

She outlined several actions women could take, including getting their Vitamin D levels tested and ensuring that they have enough of it in their system. She also encouraged women to eat healthy foods — she suggested chia seeds and fresh cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, kale and cauliflower, with some extra virgin olive oil drizzled on top — and Omega 3 fatty acids.

All of them have broad-ranging positive impacts that can dial back biological age, Sellman said.

She added women can also benefit from getting enough sleep and spending 30 minutes a day relaxing — either through prayer, listening to music, meditating or another method that works.

Sellman also spoke highly of Silver Sol and the benefits it can bring.

She challenged those in attendance to take action toward improving their health.

“If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten,” she said. “My job today is inspiring you to take one baby step. Take one of the things we’ve talked about today. Just one. One food, one supplement. Start there and begin the journey to getting younger and healthier with every breath you take.”

Later Tuesday, Sellman was an in-studio guest for a taping of The Jim Bakker Show.

The show, which also focuses on health, will air on your local station beginning Feb. 9 and contains special information about how to purchase copies of the naturopathic doctor’s seminar.

Morningside Celebrates Community Birthday Party for Jesus

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas as Morningside opened their hearts for the 4th annual Christmas Community Outreach Birthday Party for Jesus! Families from all over the community came to enjoy and celebrate together with the staff and volunteers of Morningside Church!

On Saturday December 5th, Jim and Lori Bakker, Marie Bakker, Zach Drew and Sasha Voltz welcomed hundreds of families to Grace Street to give back to the community. As Tammy Sue Bakker and the Morningside band joyfully brought Christmas to life with all of our Christmas favorites, the smell of pancakes and a full delicious breakfast wafted through the air. Families joined together to savor their meal and remember that Christmas is all about the birth of Jesus.

A multitude of gifts were raffled off for children as well as adults. The smiles of boys and girls as they picked out a new bike or toy, hugged Santa and danced to the music is what inspires Morningside and the Jim Bakker Show to put on this huge event together each year.

For families who are in need, the opportunity to provide gifts for their families and feel the presence and love of God, as they pick out items they could never have provided on their own brings a peace to their spirit that the volunteers and staff are grateful to share.

This ministry is incredibly blessed by our community and this small of way of giving back could never be enough to thank you.

Happy Birthday Jesus! And a Very Merry Christmas from Jim and Lori Bakker and everyone here at Morningside!

Visions of Morningside – The Journey to Morningside

After a long flight, with my head buried in my Bible, I made it to Dallas,TX!  After months of waiting, anxiety building to panic, I had gotten on that plane and I made it!

Grabbing my things, I ventured my way off the plane and there was my wonderful brother waiting for me.  I cannot tell you how good it was to see a familiar face! It was so good to see my blood, my kin.  We embraced and I probably hugged him just a little longer than I normally would have.  I was just so glad that I had made it! I was smelling that Texas air and I was with my family. My mind, body and spirit were calm and my anxiety had lifted!   Continue reading

Rick Wiles, “Prepping is Biblical!”

The first day of our Ready Now Expo had the perfect closing.  Rick Wiles surprised the audience with an inspirational message “The Prepper’s Ultimate Survival Kit.”  Rick discussed why he supports prepping by using the story of Joseph who prophesied to the Pharaoh about 7 years of plenty and then famine. He reminded the audience that Joseph stored food in multiple cities, and asked.  “If Joseph hadn’t stored food, how many people would have died? The fact that he was obedient, kept people alive.”

“We are all learning about the Shemitah and we are living in a time of multiple cycles.” Rick explained. “This could be the return of Jesus Christ, or this could be another historical rollover of cycles. Only God knows the timing.”  He added that whether or not we were entering the Tribulation period, something “monumental” was happening in the world. Because of the many events that are coming, he urged the importance of not only preparing for ourselves, but also for the the generations who will come after us.

“Prepping is Biblical!” Showing his support for Jim Bakker and the ministry, Mr. Wiles stated firmly, “ Pastor Jim has been tenacious and obedient in warning people. And because he’s been obedient…I don’t know how many people have stored food!”

Mr. Wiles was wonderful about helping the audience remember that the ultimate survival Kit is from God.  The best security system is when you have the Lord in your heart and it is His wisdom that will guide you through the worst of times.

Prepping is Biblical.  But, it is most important to prep yourself spiritually.   This message sets the tone of our week together here at Morningside and for the hundreds of people attending our incredible August 2015 Ready Now Expo!

Calling on the Line – The Journey to Morningside Continues

With a simple license plate that said “God Cares,”  I was able to breathe for the ride to the airport to catch my flight to Dallas. I knew the Master’s Commission event that I was to attend there called “The Mix” was a key to my future.  God was showing me that He was there with me, but the ride to the airport was not nearly long enough. And suddenly, we had arrived.

So far I had managed to keep my head buried in my Bible. Each word, a kind of anti-anxiety treatment, but it really only lasted for as long as I remained there. The moment I turned my head from His Word I could feel the anxiety coming back.  I had been in the midst of an almost paralyzing attack of anxiety, but I knew that God had a plan for me.  It was this plan that would make me fight every blast of fear the enemy could throw at me.   Continue reading

Morningside Celebrates Lori’s House Grand Opening!

The Grand Opening of Lori’s House was a celebration full of smiles and true thankfulness to God and all that have donated, worked thousands of hours, encouraged and prayed!  On July 4th, almost 4 years to the day of its dedication, Lori’s House opened it’s doors to saving lives!

“What better day to dedicate a home that encourages life and renewing!  It has been a long road to opening this wonderful place for young pregnant women to go and have their babies instead of aborting them,”  Pastor Jim Bakker commented. “Lori warned me that there would be warfare. And there truly was, but we made it and we will cut the ribbon today!  God is on our side!!”

Lori Bakker thanked the many people who have had a part in this miracle remembering the amazing people who have donated with such generosity and believe in this cause.  She thanked the many who have prayed daily for this ministry and the staff and volunteers that have worked non-stop. “Tammy Sue Bakker has held this vision all along and made sure it came to pass.  With the amazing help from our forewoman, Daina Martin and her incredible staff this beautiful home has been made possible!

Lori took a special moment to honor her mother, Char Graham.  “ You truly are the queen of my life.  Jesus is my King and my rock but my Mom has been my rock as well. Her prayers for me when I wasn’t living for God brought me through to Him and her prayers have not stopped.  There is a special place for you in heaven and I am so proud to have you as my mom! “

Lori’s house has been a ministry close to Lori’s heart.  “One of the great joys of my life is mentoring.  Moments where I can speak into another woman the love of God and the healing that can be found there. We are going to see amazing journeys.. not only are we saving babies and their brave young mothers,  but we will be witnessing post abortive women being healed through ‘Mourning to Joy!’  We will be training up true women of God!”

Before stepping up to cut the ribbon with Lori and their granddaughter Olivia, Pastor spoke to the crowd.  “God has His hands on this ministry.  We pray for all of you every day! We pray for our employees and the staff of Lori’s House.  We pray for our volunteers and for our supporters!  God has set you apart for a worldwide ministry that nobody else is doing and we stand together as one!” he declared.  “ Children are our heritage.  We dedicate Lori’s House to the Glory of God!”

Morningside Smiles and Welcomes Bobby Conner!

Where Bobby Conner goes, joy in the Lord follows.  This past Friday night, here at Morningside, Bobby gave the prophetic Word on Hope.  “What a difference a day makes!”  he smiled.  “The Lord told me to tell His people to war against the raging cloud of doubt.  Doubt is deadly!  Hang on to hope because one day can make a difference in your world!”

Pastor Conner remarked that through his years in ministry he always has people ask him, “Do you have any advice?”   “Well… YES  I have some advice… some good advice…Live your life with swift and complete obedience!  The happiest people on the planet are obedient to God!  The most miserable people I know are Christians trying to live like they are lost!  Be SINGLE MINDED in your love for God!”

Everyone at Morningside truly does rejoice in hearing the Word from Pastor Bobby Conner!  His Love of Jesus is so apparent that it shines through with his smile. That love came through while telling the story of Mark 5 when Jesus cast the demons from a man in the area of Gerasene.  This man was completely mad with demons who had possessed him and had to live in a cave because people were so frightened of him.  Jesus cast out the demons in two thousand pigs that promptly rushed down the hill and drown.  When the people came to see Jesus they saw this man perfectly healed and happy.  The townspeople asked Jesus to leave out of fear and the fact that they had lost two thousand pigs, and when Jesus was leaving the healed man asked him if he could go with Jesus.  Christ told him that He wanted him to go out and tell all he met about how God had healed him.

“This man woke up that morning a maniac and went to bed a missionary,  ah yes…what a difference a day makes!”

Thank you Bobby Conner!
