A North Carolina Muslim has admitted that he was going to fight with terrorist groups.
Akba Jihad Jordan was arrested earlier this year with his friend Avin Marsalis Brown when they talked with an undercover FBI agent about joining jihad. They told the agent about weapons they have in their possession and that they would use them against the United States.
Jordan was arrested on the same day Brown was arrested at Raleigh Durham International airport attempting to fly to Turkey. Jordan had an appointment scheduled to get his passport so he could leave the country.
“Akba Jordan turned his back on his own country and was willing to fight side by side with terrorist groups in Yemen and Syria who wish to do us harm,” John Strong, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI in North Carolina, said in a statement following the hearing. “American citizens who offer support to terrorist organizations pose a grave threat to our national security and will face serious consequences for their actions.”
Jordan pleaded guilty to conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists. He could face up to 15 years in prison.
Police and IDF forces across Israel are on high alert Friday because of the possibility of clashes between Jews and Muslims as two major holidays collide on the same day.
Yom Kippur and Eid al-Adha overlap for the first time in over 30 years.
Reinforced police units have been deployed in cities that have significant Muslim minorities: Jerusalem, Jaffa, Haifa and Acre. The military has closed the West Bank and the Gaza Strip which is usually done during the major Jewish holidays.
Yom Kippur is a major day in Israel where devout Jews ask God to forgive them for their sins. Almost all businesses close and TV and radio stations usually are off the air.
The Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha lasts three days and consists of family celebrations and events.
Israeli officials did not say if the increased security will end after Yom Kippur or ocntinue through the end of the Muslim holiday.
A second Muslim in Oklahoma has been arrested after threatening to behead a co-worker.
Jacob Mugambi Muriithi was taken into custody on Friday after he threatened a woman at Bellevue Nursing Home in Oklahoma City with beheading. The 30-year-old reportedly had a blade that he used to make the threat.
“The victim said Jacob asked her what time she got off work and she replied by asking him in a joking manner if he was going to kill her,” a police report outlines. “Jacob told the victim, ‘Yes,’ he was going to cut her head off. The victim asked Jacob what he was going to cut her head off with and he said, ‘A blade,’ then told her after he did it he was going to post it on Facebook.”
Muriithi is behing held on one million dollars bail.
The arrest comes on the heels of a Muslim man entering his former employer and beheading a woman while chanting “Allahu Akbar” and other Islamic phrases.
A video smuggled out of a mosque in the Gaza strip shows a Muslim sheikh wielding a rifle and calling for violence against Israel as the only way to establish a Palestinian state.
Sheikh Lyad Abu Funun is shown in the video released by Middle East Media Research Institute. In the speech, he declares that Israel did not succeed on any level during the 50-day war for disarming Hamas terrorists.
“The Israelis came to conquer the Gaza Strip. Did they succeed in doing so? No, they did not. They came to take these weapons away from us,” Funun yells. “Do I still hold this weapon or not? They came to take these weapons away from us. Did they succeed?”
Those attending the event chanted “Allah Akbar” while the sheikh gave his rant.
The video also shows another part of the sermon where Funan says the weapons are the only way.
“This war has proven that these weapons are our only means to liberate our land,” Funan said. “These weapons are our only means to liberate the Al-Aqsa Mosque. These weapons are our only means to establish the Islamic state. These weapons are our only means to reestablish Muhammad’s caliphate. These weapons are our only means to instate the law of Allah.”
President Obama gave a confusing speech to the American people Wednesday night where he said that he would fight Islamic terrorism and that terrorists would have no place to hide…
But then he said that ISIS, the group that beheaded two Americans and has carried out mass killings of Christians across Iraq, is not Muslim and thus not an Islamic terrorist group.
“ISIL is not Islamic,” the President said. “No religion condones the killing of innocents, and the vast majority of ISIL’s victims have been Muslim.”
The President then went on to say that even though they are not Islamic, they used to be the Iraq branch of the Islamic terrorist group Al-Qaeda.
“It was formerly al Qaeda’s affiliate in Iraq, and has taken advantage of sectarian strife and Syria’s civil war to gain territory on both sides of the Iraq-Syrian border,” Obama said. “ISIL is a terrorist organization, pure and simple. And it has no vision other than the slaughter of all who stand in its way.”
The President did acknowledge the Christians who have been killed and driven from their homes by the Islamic terrorist group.
“This includes Sunni and Shia Muslims who are at grave risk, as well as tens of thousands of Christians and other religious minorities,” Obama said. “We cannot allow these communities to be driven from their ancient homelands.”
A British imam appeared on a Russian television program and confirmed that terrorism is part of the Islamic faith.
Imam Anjem Choudary was being interviewed by Russia Today journalist Oksana Boyko about the beheading of two American journalists by the Islamic terrorist group Islamic State.
“You said just recently on CNN that the decapitation of journalist James Foley was, in fact, an attempt by the Islamic State to terrorize their enemy, which in this case is the United States,” Boyko said to Choudary. “I wonder whether something like that could be justified under the Sharia law. Can you really hold an individual responsible for the actions of a collective? Is that legal in Islam?”
Choudary said that every action for a Muslim has to be based on the Qur’an and the teachings of Mohammed. Then he surprised many with his next statement.
“I would first invite the people to think about and embrace Islam, but those who are already Muslim must know that Allah mentions in the Koran—in fact if you look in chapter 8 verse 60, he said, ‘Prepare as much as you can steeds of war to terrorize the enemy,’” he explained.
“So terrorizing the enemy is in fact part of Islam.”
Choudary is the former leader of Al-Majajiroun which is banned in England. Two former members of the group were involved in the beheading of a British soldier in broad daylight on a public street.
After seven years of harassment, graffiti, sabotage and physical assaults by Muslims, a Christian church has left their building in East Jerusalem.
Calvary Baptist Church moved out of their building in the Shofat area of Jerusalem looking for a safer, permanent home. The Islamists went from threatening the church to threatening the landlord who allowed the church to meet inside his property.
“It was very emotional, because a lot of our people really started to grow there,” Pastor Steven Khoury said. “Most of the growth happened in Shofat because of the persecution.”
The pastor said within 10 days of moving in, a Muslim attempted to stab a church member outside a worship service.
Their playground area was destroyed when Muslims threw molotov cocktails in an attempt to burn down the building.
The church was Pastor Khoury’s second attempt to plant a church in Jerusalem.
A Muslim man has admitted committing multiple murders in two states because they were revenge against America.
Ali Muhamed Brown told police “My mission is vengeance for the lives, millions of lives [that] are lost every day,” Ali Muhamad Brown stated, according to reports. “Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan—all these places where innocent lives are being taken every single day … All these lives are taken every single day by America, by this government. So a life for a life.”
Brown is jailed in the Essex County Jail in Newark, New Jersey related to the killing of 19-year-old Brendan Tevlin on July 25th. Brown walked up to Tevlin’s car at a stop light, gunned him down in the front seat and then moved the body into the backseat so he could drive the car to an apartment complex and abandon it.
Brown also committed three murders in Washington State before he moved to New Jersey.
Brown said he was doing “my small part” in the war against America by Islamic extremists.
A video leaked online from the Chicago Islamic Center shows a local imam telling those in attendance to “wage jihad” against Israel “for the sake of Allah.”
The clips of the video were released by the Middle East Media Research Institute showing the rant from Sheikh Mohamed Elimam in July.
“Oh, those of you who want to wage jihad for the sake of Allah, Palestine is calling you and Gaza is crying out for your help,” he declares. “If you are true believers, real mujahideen, hasten to Palestine. The enemy was planted in the midst of the Arab nation and they chose Jerusalem, Palestine—the most important area—in order to be a thorn in the side of the Arab and Islamic nations. May Allah pull this thorn out and stick it down their throats. May they be sent back to their countries in shame and disgrace, Allah willing.”
The video shows those in attendance chanting for the destruction of Israel and the murder of Jews.
The similar message was delivered to the crowd at a pro-Hamas rally in Miami that led to a Jewish photographer having to flee because of the threat of violence.
A Christian in Iran was ordered by a judge to have his lips burned with a cigarette after he did not fast during the month-long Muslim holiday of Ramadan.
Ramadan requires all Muslims to fast from food and drink from sunrise to sundown. The Islamic government of Iran is imposing those requirements on all citizens even if they are not Muslims according to sources within Tehran.
The National Council of Resistance of Iran released a statement condemning the actions saying it shows the way Iran targets Christians.
“The silence of the world community, especially of western countries, vis-à-vis these medieval punishments under the excuse of having nuclear talks with Iran has intensified the brutal and systematic violation of human rights in Iran. This will ultimately embolden the Iranian regime to continue its nuclear projects more than before,” read the statement from the France-based group.
Some Muslims within the city are welcoming the strict actions. One Tehran resident lamented the way many residents of the city are not being as strict on the rules.
“In 1995, if someone had even a drop of water, everyone went and reported it and that person would get fired, or just scolded if they were lucky. Not any more, though. People are looking out for each other. I almost miss those days, though. It’s like people’s hearts just aren’t in religion anymore,” a man named Hamid told The Guardian newspaper.
