Planned Parenthood has been launching a social media campaign attacking NBC, claiming the network refused a commercial for a movie that contains the word “abortion”.
However, NBC says the representatives of the movie never contacted them regarding any interest in buying spots to promote their movie.
Planned Parenthood’s president released a statement slamming the network with the propaganda claim that the “vast majority” of Americans support abortion and that the network “belongs in another decade” for not running commercials for the movie Obvious Child. They ran a campaign on twitter telling NBC to “stop the stigma” of abortion.
NBC released a statement saying that the claims of the pro-abortion group are false.
“No final spots were submitted to NBC broadcast standards for on-air consideration and NBC broadcast advertising sales was never contacted about a media buy on NBC for spots related to this movie,” explained an NBC spokesperson. “Moreover, initial feedback from our broadcast standards group did not include any suggestion to remove a specific word.”
The movie, which Newsbusters’ Katie Yoder reviewed as “little more than slick pro-abortion” political propaganda, is being presented as a romantic comedy about a character who gets an abortion after becoming pregnant from a one night stand.
Planned Parenthood’s latest attempts to undermine the truth of the Gospel and the sanctity of life come from a “pastoral letter” that tells patients the Bible doesn’t condemn abortion.
The letter from the group’s “Clergy Advocacy Board” says that they were there to support their decision and that neither Jewish nor Christian scriptures mention abortion. The letter goes on to say that no one should have “faith beliefs” forced upon anyone else.
The letter tells makes the blasphemous claim “no one knows the circumstances of your life as well as you know them” and that “no one knows what’s in your heart better than you.”
The letter says that God will be with them even if they choose to kill their baby through abortion. It also says the Planned Parenthood office will find them a clergy member that will support and endorse their decision to abort their child.
A six-year investigative report on Planned Parenthood has been presented to members of Congress as part of an initiative to ask them to stop federal funding of the abortion provider.
Live Action, the pro-life organization headed by national speaker and activist Lila Rose, presented the document exposing lawlessness, abuses and illicit activities conducted by members of Planned Parenthood.
“Planned Parenthood staffers, nurses, and managers have been documented coaching and covering for sex-traffickers, ignoring the sexual abuse of young girls, and putting women’s lives at risk. The corporation is awash in deaths, injuries, and allegations of and settlements paid for massive fraud,” Live Action wrote in a petition posted online asking for people join with them in asking Congress to defund Planned Parenthood.
The report shows that Planned Parenthood’s surgical centers have quotas for procedures performed and conditions & staff routinely put “women’s lives as risk” in their rush to meet quotas.
“We are going through the halls of Congress and dropping off this six-year report, along with a letter to each member whether they’re in the Senate or the House, explaining what this report is, and the importance of reviewing the fact that $500 million every year is going to fund the biggest abortion chain in the country, Planned Parenthood,” Rose told reporters.
A group of U.S. Senators joined with pro-life activists in calling for a new law that would prohibit abortions after the 20th week of gestation.
The rally called for passage of the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senator Lindsey Graham were among the dignitaries that called on Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to bring the bill to the floor for debate and a vote.
“This legislation, which according to five major national polls is supported by the majority of Americans, would protect babies and women from the horrific violence of abortion beyond 20 weeks,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony List.
The 20-week abortion ban is in place in 13 states.
Pro-abortion groups like Planned Parenthood are vehemently against the bill even though they admit that 99% of the abortions in the U.S. happen before the 20th week. They are also angry the bill would jail doctors for 5 years if they perform abortions after the 20th week.
A new report from Fox News shows that billionaire Warren Buffett has given enough money to abortion organizations to pay for roughly 2.7 million first-trimester abortions.
The man called the “Oracle of Omaha” has given over $1.2 billion to pro-abortion groups from 2001 to 2012.
Dan Gainor of the Media Research Center says that it’s shocking the lack of attention which has been given to the massive amount of funding for abortion from Buffett. Gainor said that if the third richest man in the world paid to have 2.7 million people killed, it would be major world news. However, since it’s babies via abortion, the news is not reported in the mainstream media.
Buffett has reportedly given almost $290 million to Planned Parenhood. Buffett’s first wife Susan was a major abortion advocate and he funds a foundation in her name headed by a woman who called abortion “a moral action undertaken by moral agents.”
Gainor says that it’s not just the media identified as liberally-leaning that’s been contributing to the blackout concerning news surrounding Buffett’s massive abortion support. Gainor said that Lila Rose of the anti-abortion group Live Action and Project Veritas filmmaker James O’Keefe failed to mention Buffett’s support of Planned Parenthood in their sting videos showing the group setting up underage abortions.
A U.S. District Court judge has refused to block a new set of abortion regulations in Arizona.
The regulations now in effect will require abortionists to follow FDA guidelines for prescribing and dispensing abortion producing drugs such as RU486. The FDA guidelines prohibit the use of those drugs after the seventh week of pregnancy.
Attorneys for Planned Parenthood has sued to stop the law claiming that requiring abortionists to follow the federal government’s guidelines on the drug would harm women.
Judge David C. Bury ruled that it was still to be seen if the law is an obstacle to abortion but that based on what was presented to the court the measure did not create irreparable harm.
The pro-life Center for Arizona Policy released a statement praising the court’s action saying that the decision upheld a common sense health and safety standard and that it was a victory for anyone who truly cared about the well-being of women.
If you believe in the sanctity of life, the House minority leader thinks you’re stupid.
Rep. Nancy Pelosi told a Planned Parenthood group that was giving her an award that anyone who was pro-life was “closed-minded”, “oblivious” and “dumb.”
Pelosi was being given the Margaret Sanger Award for “outstanding contributions to the reproductive health and rights movement.” Sanger is the woman who founded Planned Parenthood and once said that she had to submit to the dictates of “an ever-increasing, unceasingly spawning class of human beings who should never have been born at all.”
Pelosi said she was accepting the award on behalf of her colleagues who are continuing to fight for those who want to end the lives of their babies via abortion.
The gathering also gave a “Global Citizen Award” to former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg who is very pro-abortion.
Chocolate? No. Flowers? Nope. A special dinner out? Negative.
The head of Planned Parenthood thinks women need “safe abortions” for Valentine’s Day.
Cecile Richards, president of the abortion provider, posted a video online Friday that showed her holding signs with items written inside a heart that women “really” want for Valentine’s Day. Among the list? Abortions.
At the end of the list, Richards sarcastically called abortions “really radical” items.
Planned Parenthood has released information that said in 2012 they killed over 327,000 babies via abortion while only referring 2,197 mothers to adoption services. Since 1970, Planned Parenthood has killed over 5.3 million children via abortion.
Seventy new anti-abortion laws went into effect January 1 in 22 states prompting pro-abortionists to howl in protest.
The Guttmacher Institute reports the 70 new provisions are the second most ever behind 90 enacted in 2011.
Planned Parenthood, which is the source of one-third of all abortions each year in the United States, said the actions to protect the lives of babies was the result of “out of touch Tea Party politicians” who used “underhanded tricks” to get laws passed.
The abortion restrictions include requiring minors to get a parent’s permission, waiting periods and prohibitions on public funding of abortions.
Planned Parenthood threatened to target any politician that is against abortion.
Newly elected New York Mayor Bill de Blasio says that he is going to target pro-life crisis pregnancy centers saying they are “sham” centers because they do not kill babies via abortion.
De Blasio also promised to partner with Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers to expand services and increase the number of abortions taking place in New York City.
He even said that he would offer city sponsored space for abortionists to open clinics.
De Blasio also said he would continue to appeal a court order striking down a law aimed at driving any pregnancy care center out of the city. He said if the appeal fails, he will create new laws aimed at preventing any center that does not provide abortions as being a legitimate health care provider.
He also said all doctors in the city will be forced to perform abortions as part of their training and will not be allowed to object on religious grounds.
