The U.S. has closed 21 embassies and consulates around the world through next week due to intelligence reports that say a major terrorist attack is planned by al-Qaeda.

The State Department said that closing the embassies for the rest of this week instead of just the weekend was due to “an abundance of caution” related to the initial threat. Continue reading →
