Christian Protesters Disrupt Texas Muslim Capitol Day

A Christian activist who made headlines last year when she boldly proclaimed Christ during a Muslim prayer service at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. made another bold stand in Texas.

Christine Weick took the microphone at the podium during the 7th annual Texas Muslim Capitol Day and declared Christ as Lord over the state.

“I proclaim the name of the Lord Jesus Christ over the capitol of Texas,” declared Weick. “I stand against Islam and the false prophet Mohammad.  Islam will never dominate the United States, and by the grace of God, it will not dominate Texas.”

While no lawmakers were seen at the event, one Democratic State Senator from Houston referred to the declaration of Weick’s as “hate speech.”

“People of all faiths deserve to be treated with respect and dignity in our state’s capitol while they exercise their rights in a peaceful manner,” Sen. Rodney Ellis remarked in a statement provided to the Houston Chronicle. “We felt the need to stand in solidarity with Texas Muslims in the face of virulent hate speech and bigotry.”

Weick had also protested the “Stand With The Prophet” event in Garland, Texas in January.

Virginia Man Named To Most Wanted Terrorist List

A former taxi driver from northern Virginia is now on the list of the world’s most wanted terrorists.

Liban Haji Mohamed, 29, was born in Somalia but became a naturalized citizen of the United States.  The FBI says that Liban is a recruiter for the al-Shabab terrorist network in Somalia.

Liban is the older brother of Gulet Mohamed, who has been fighting the government for four years over his placement on the no-fly list.  The family claims that Liban was harassed by the FBI after advocating for his younger brother and that he’s gone into hiding because he wanted to avoid harassment.

The charges against Liban Mohamed including providing material support to both Al Qaeda and al-Shabab.  The FBI says it’s likely he left the U.S. for Africa in July 2012 but prior to that had been a taxi driver in Fairfax County, Virginia.

“It is important for us to locate Mohamed because he has knowledge of the Washington, D.C., area’s infrastructure such as shopping areas, Metro, airports, and government buildings,” said Carl Ghattas, special agent in charge of the Counterterrorism Division at the FBI’s Washington Field Office. “This makes him an asset to his terrorist associates who might plot attacks on U.S. soil.”

The FBI also said that he was a “close associate” of Zachary Cheeser, a northern Virginia man who was sentenced to 25 years in prison for trying to join al-Shabab in 2011 along with make threats against the creators of the cartoon South Park for a perceived insult to prophet Muhammad.

Liban’s family claims the release from the FBI is nothing more than an attempt to influence the judge in the case Gulet Mohamed has filed.

Obama Administration Criticizes Israeli Ambassador

An anonymous member of the White House has launched criticism of Israel’s ambassador to the U.S. to the New York Times.

The member of President Obama’s inner circle told the Times that Ambassador Ron Dermer is repeatedly placing Prime Minister Netanyahu’s political fortunes over their relationship with the United States.

The White House took issue with Ambassador Dormer working with House Speaker John Boehner to work out the arrangements on Netanyahu addressing a joint session of Congress.

Dermer said he had no regrets advancing his country’s interests.

“My understanding was that it was the speaker’s prerogative to do, and that he would be the one to inform the administration,” Mr. Dermer said to the Times. “The prime minister feels very strongly that he has to speak on this issue. That’s why he accepted the invitation, not to wade into your political debate or make this a partisan issue, and not to be disrespectful to the president.”

The White House says that Dermer should have told Secretary of State Kerry about the invitation during a meeting held before the announcement of the speech.

Humboldt County California Suffers Severe Quake

The U.S. Geological Survey reports that Humboldt County California was struck by a 5.7 magnitude earthquake Wednesday afternoon.

The quake’s epicenter was underwater about 40 miles southwest of Eureka.

Lt. Wayne Hanson of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office told NBC that no major damage or injuries were reported but that the shaking was significant.  The USGS “Did You Feel It” website had multiple reports from coastal areas of Level VI shaking, designed as “strong”.

Ironically, the quake struck as a “room full of Public Safety Officials” were meeting at the California Office of Emergency Services.

The USGS reported measurements from the quake over 200 miles to the north, east and south.

State Department Hosts Muslim Brotherhood

The State Department welcomed Muslim Brotherhood aligned leaders to discuss their ongoing effort to undermine the government of Egyptian president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

The group has been seen taking provocative photos during their trip where they are flashing the Islamist group’s four finger hand signal and the posting those photos to social media sites.

The State Department is maintaining a dialogue with the group because of their continued involvement in the Egyptian political spectrum.

“The State Department continues to speak with Muslim Brothers on the assumption that Egyptian politics are unpredictable, and the Brotherhood still has some support in Egypt,” Eric Trager of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy told the Washington Free Beacon. “But when pro-Brotherhood delegations then post photos of themselves making pro-Brotherhood gestures in front of the State Department logo, it creates an embarrassment for the State Department.”

Terrorism expert Patrick Poole said the meeting is an insult to our Egyptian allies.

“What this shows is that the widespread rejection of the Muslim Brotherhood across the Middle East, particularly the largest protests in recorded human history in Egypt on June 30, 2013, that led to Morsi’s ouster, is not recognized by the State Department and the Obama administration,” Poole said.

“This is a direct insult to our Egyptian allies, who are in an existential struggle against the Muslim Brotherhood, all in the pursuit of the mythical ‘moderate Islamists’ who the D.C. foreign policy elite still believe will bring democracy to the Middle East.”

Least Bible Minded Cities Named

For the third straight year, Providence, Rhode Island and New Bedford, Massachusetts are the least Bible minded cities in the United States.

The opposite end of the survey named Birmingham, Alabama as the most Biblically minded city in the U.S.

The survey’s condition to be “Bible minded” was to have respondents state they had read the Bible in the last seven days and that they have a strong belief in the Bible’s accuracy.  Only 27 percent of the population nationwide has been considered Bible minded.

“This study provides us with a great starting point to understand where people are interacting with Scripture and what their views are of the Bible,” said Andrew Hood, managing director of communications at American Bible Society. “We want to help people continue to grow their engagement with the Bible. Ultimately, we want people to know that, whether they live in one of the most or least Bible-minded cities, the Bible can speak to their needs and challenges and help them make sense of life.”

The ten most Bible minded cities (in order):  Birmingham, AL; Chattanooga, TN; Tri-Cities, TN; Roanoke/Lynchburg, VA; Shreveport, LA; Springfield, MO; Jackson, MS; Charlotte, NC; Greenville/Spartanburg, SC; Little Rock, AR.

New York City made the list of least Bible minded cities for the first time at #91.  The rest of the bottom 10:  Phoenix, AZ; Buffalo, NY; Hartford/New Haven, CT; Las Vegas, NV; Cedar Rapids, IA; San Francisco, CA; Boston, MA; Albany, NY and Providence.

30 Babies Placed Under Home Isolation In Measles Outbreak

An outbreak of measles that started at Disneyland is causing massive problems throughout California according to the LA Times.

Thirty babies are now in home isolation in Alameda County because of possible exposure to measles. Sherri Willis of the Alameda County Public Health Deaprtment told the LA Times that the children were not infected but had contact with measles patients.

“It is our job to try to determine who has been exposed,” Willis said.

There have been 87 confirmed cases of measles connected to the Disneyland strain.  Officials say that most of the people who have contracted the disease were not vaccinated against it and urged all people to get vaccinations if they did not as a child.

Measles is spread through the air by coughing or sneezing.  The U.S. had a record number of cases last year, with 644 infections in 27 states.

Other precautions being taken include over two dozen high school students from Huntington Beach High School being sent home because they were unvaccinated and one student was confirmed to have measles.

“Unimmunized students are excluded from school for 21 days past the date of exposure, during which they need to monitor themselves for signs of measles,” Deanne Thompson, Orange County health care agency spokeswoman said. “This is to avoid spreading the disease.”

Franklin Graham: Christianity Being Pushed To The Back

The Rev. Franklin Graham is pulling no punches when it comes to the state of Christianity in America.

Graham says that Christians are being pushed to the back of the room while government groups and activist entities are promoting all other religions.  Graham made his statements while appearing on WNCN to talk about the recent incident with Duke University’s now-revoked plan to air Muslim calls to prayer from their bell tower.

“I agree with diversity but what’s happening with this country is all these religions are getting front row and Christians are being pushed — and we’re the majority — are being pushed back to the back of the room,” he said.

“This country was built with Christian principles — it was men and women who believed in God and believed in His Son, Jesus Christ, who built this country. We’re the greatest nation in the history of the world. It wasn’t built by Islam, and it wasn’t built by any other group. It was those who supported and believed in the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Graham said that in America, people do not realize that Imams in Middle Eastern nations are not condemning terrorist attacks and that the Quran calls for violence against non-Muslims.

“First of all, you don’t have condemnation outside this country,” he said. “You’ll have clerics in this country who’ll condemn these acts. But these acts of terrorism are not condemned by the mullahs in Saudi Arabia or in Egypt, or Iraq or Syria.”

“The reason is,” he continued, “is because the Quran teaches this. And so, if they condemned it they would be condemning the Quran, and they’re not going to condemn the Quran.”

Democrats Finally Admit ACA Funds Abortion

For years Democratic candidates and spokesmen have been slamming Republicans for saying that the Affordable Care Act provides funding for abortions.

Now, in a roundabout way, they are finally admitting it after Republicans passed a bill that would ban funding for abortions through the ACA.  The No Taxpayer Funding For Abortion Act passed 242-179 and says that any insurance plan that receives government funding cannot pay for abortions.

Democrats says that the bill raises taxes on small businesses because they currently receive a tax credit from the government if they provide abortion coverage to employees.  Without the tax credit, employers are less likely to cover employee abortions.

Republicans say that the bill does nothing to employers.  All that would happen is that employers would no longer automatically cover abortions because of the government’s funding the tax credit.  If an employer wants to cover employee’s abortions, they can choose to pay that out of their own company profits.

The Family Research Council said on a website, ObamacareAbortion.com, that the abortion tax credit is another way the lack of transparency is hurting Christian business owners who do not want to pay for abortion.

President Confirms “Deep Commitment To Abortion”

On a day that hundreds of thousands of American women were marching on the nation’s capitol over the slaughter of over 55 million babies in the 42 years of Roe v. Wade, President Obama marked the moment by speaking about his strong support for abortion.

“Forty-two years ago today, the U.S. Supreme Court issued its ruling in Roe v. Wade, a decision that protects a woman’s freedom to make her own choices about her body and her health, and reaffirms a fundamental American value: that government should not intrude in our most private and personal family matters,” Obama wrote in an official statement.

“I am deeply committed to protecting this core constitutional right,” he continued. “The federal government should not be injecting itself into decisions best made between women, their families, and their doctors.”

The president also said he is committed to reducing unintended pregnancies, supporting maternal and child health, promoting adoptions and minimizing the need for abortions.

Republican leaders in Congress shelved a vote Thursday morning on the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act which would have banned abortions after 20 weeks because of some female representatives that said they would not be able to get votes in their districts because of it.

Those in attendance at the March were furious.

“[It was] one of the most disappointing moments of my life,” said Sen. Trent Franks (R-AZ), the main sponsor of the bill.
