Franklin Graham Says America is Praising Sin

Rev. Franklin Graham is taking a bold stand against what he is calling the government’s assault on Christianity while society glorifies sin.

“What’s happening is we’re glorifying sin, we’re lifting up sin. And it’s like little children shaking their fist at Almighty God,” Graham told Fox News.

Graham’s statement came in the midst of a discussion about how one city is planning to rename Christmas “sparkle day” and a Minnesota courthouse banning poinsettias.

“It’s all over the country,” Graham asserted. “You have the secularists and the humanists who are wanting to deny that Jesus ever existed. And they want to take His name off of everything.  What’s happening now is that it’s infiltrating our government. And our government is attacking Christmas. And it’s not only attacking Christmas, but the name of Christ.”

Graham says the same people who are doing all they can to remove Christ from society are the same ones that are pushing a satanic, sinful agenda.

“We are glorifying sin. People have got to understand that God takes sin seriously, because sin will separate us from God for eternity. Hell is a real place. And that’s where every person who turns their back on God [will go] — and God will condemn them. He’s a righteous judge. He has no choice but to condemn a person because of their sins. But He’s willing to forgive a sin, every sin,” he said.

OPEC Collapsing Says Bank of America

The world’s oil market is o the verge of collapse according to experts at Bank of America.

The bank warned that the OPEC oil cartel has essentially collapsed and that prices will fall below $50 dollars a barrel.  The weakest oil producers will be run from the industry and power will consolidate into a handful of producers.

“The consequences are profound and long-lasting,“ bank commodity chief Francisco Blanch told the London Daily Telegraph.

The move could drive many American oil producers out of the business.  At least 15 percent are unable to cover costs at the current oil price level and experts say that when prices fall below $55 a barrel over half the American producers will be forced to shut down.

The benefit then comes to middle east powerhouses such as Saudi Arabia which have large cash reserves that can help them weather a prolonged decline in oil prices.

Bank of America’s competitor Citibank has posted an opposite view, saying American shale oil producers can withstand as low as $40 a barrel.

College Professor Accused of Bias

A professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver is being accused of bias against conservative students and openly displaying hostility toward Christians and conservatives.

Charles Angeletti teaches “American Civilization” and forces students to repeat his “New Pledge of Allegiance” that’s filled with hate.

“I pledge allegiance to and wrap myself in the flag of the United States Against Anything Un-American,” reads Angeletti’s version. “And to the Republicans for which it stands, two nations, under Jesus, rich against poor, with curtailed liberty and justice for all except blacks, homosexuals, women who want abortions, Communists, welfare queens, treehuggers, feminazis, illegal immigrants, children of illegal immigrants, and you, if you don’t watch your step.”

Angeletti claims his pledge is satirical but all students are forced to recite it.  Students told the website Campus Reform that most of the class has the professor forcing his extreme political views on students.

“We’re very racist, we’re very repressive, we’re very Christian oriented, we don’t tolerate other kinds of thinking in this country,” Angeletti told Campus Reform. “I could go on and on — and do, in my classes, for hours about things that we need to do to make this a better country.”

Students on the RateMyProfessors.com website said that Angeletti punishes conservatives and Christians.

“If you are a liberal, you will like him,” a student wrote. “He encourages you to speak out and voice your opinion… Unless of course, you are a Republican.”

Angeletti admitted he was biased in an interview with Campus Report.  He also expressed his hate for “family values people.”

Whooping Cough Outbreak In California

The CDC is confirming that California is in the midst of a whooping cough outbreak.

Doctors say that the outbreak is the worst in 70 years and there is over 1,000 more cases than the last major outbreak in 2010.  Over 9,900 cases have been reported and confirmed as of November 26th.

The disease, known as pertussis, is caused by bacteria and is known to run on a 3 to 5 year peak cycle.

“The last time a series of outbreaks occurred across the country, California started the parade,” said Dr. William Schaffner, chairman of preventive medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, told ABC News. “And so this is a harbinger we are fearful of.”

The CDC says that 50 percent of children under a year old who catch the disease need to be hospitalized and up to 2 percent die.

The CDC is requesting that all pregnant women be injected with the whooping couch vaccine with the hope that the injection will pass the protection from mother to child.

Michigan House Approves Religious Freedom Restoration Act

The Michigan House of Representatives has passed a state version of the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act despite outcry from anti-Christian groups in the state.

The bill, HB5958, cleared the House Judiciary Committee 7-4 and passed the full House 59-50.  The Senate now picks up the bill for consideration.

The bill was introduced in the state house because the federal law, signed into law in 1993 by President Bill Clinton, only applies to federal issues.  Legislators in Michigan wanted to make sure Christians and other people of faith had their rights protected from state groups and organizations.

The statute reads: “The free exercise of religion is an inherent, fundamental, and unalienable right secured by Article 1 of the state Constitution of 1963 and the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.”

The bill is in response to anti-Christian groups that want to eliminate Christians and people of faith from being able to exercise their rights in society.

“I support individual liberty and I support religious freedom,” House Speaker Jase Bolger (R) declared Thursday to the Judiciary Committee. “I have been horrified as some have claimed that a person’s faith should only be practiced while hiding in their home or in their church.”

CDC: Too Late To Make Flu Vaccine

The Centers for Disease Control says that it’s too late in the flu season to create a vaccine to fight the predominant strain of flu virus in the United States.

The strain, influenza A (H3N2) has mutated since the current flu shots were created and the current shots are only partially effective in containing the virus.

CDC Director Dr. Thomas Frieden said it would take up to four months to create a new flu vaccine even if newer technologies are used in creation.

Doctors say that the H3N2 strain has been especially severe when dominant and that without good match in a vaccine the likelihood of increased hospitalizations and deaths significantly increases.

The CDC is still recommending a flu shot because they say it could provide partial protection against H3N2.  They also say that if someone comes seriously ill with the flu it’s vital they be taken to a hospital for treatment.

Pro-Lifers Take City To Court Over Citations For Loitering

A Florida city who has been harassing pro-life protesters is being taken to court by two women threatened with loitering citations for their protest.

The American Center for Law and Justice says they are representing Judith Minihan and JoAnn O’Connell in a federal suit.  The women hold protests and plead with women seeking to kill their children through abortion at the Fort Myers Women’s Health Center.

“When individuals who are driving into the medical office complex stop to speak with Plaintiffs, Plaintiffs will generally hand them literature and speak with them about abortion-related topics, including information about the possible emotional and physical effects of abortion, nearby maternity homes, local and national helplines, and fetal development,”  the ACLJ wrote in their complaint.

The women take care to stand on the public sidewalk while they are there and do not block pedestrians from entering the abortionist.  However, police have taken to harassing the women.

“Defendant Officer Conticelli stated that he would enforce the loitering ordinance against them if they (1) stood in one spot on the public sidewalk in front of the medical office complex and abortion clinic and did not keep walking on that public sidewalk, (2) approached any vehicles entering or leaving the medical office complex and abortion clinic to hand out literature or speak with the occupants of the vehicle, or (3) blocked vehicular traffic entering or leaving the medical office complex and abortion clinic by handing out literature or talking to the people in vehicles,” the complaint reads.

The women handed the officer a consent decree from a previous lawsuit with the city that said they would not interfere with their pro-life activities but the police continued their threats necessitating the current suit.

The city’s attorney said they would be reviewing the situation.

China Now World’s Largest Economy

For the first time since Ulysses S. Grant was president, the United States is no longer the largest economy in the world.

The United States slipped to number 2 in the latest numbers released by the International Monetary Fund on the world economic situation.  The U.S. fell to $17.4 trillion in “real economic output” while China climbed to $17.6 trillion.

The report says that China accounts for 16.5% of the world economy while the U.S. now accounts for 16.3%.

The report is causing massive geopolitical ripples.  The decline of a country in terms of economic dominance is usually closely followed by a decline of power and importance on the world stage.

The decline of U.S. economic power could mean the days of the U.S. being a superpower are ending.

Potential Defense Secretary Quiet Supporter of Israel

The likely replacement for Chuck Hagel as defense secretary is seen as a likely stronger support of Israel than previous Obama Administration appointees.

Ashton Carter is described by those within the defense intelligence community as “an efficient administrator” and is believed to be an ally of top military brass rather than someone who views military leadership as an adversary.

Carter visited Israel in 2013 and told IDF soldiers “protecting America means protecting Israel, and that’s why we’re here in the first place.”

Carter, while considered the front runner, has been passed over for the top defense position on two other occasions and Israeli officials say they’re optimistic but will be cautious until Carter officially holds the position.

Israeli officials are also encouraged that Carter has been a strong advocate for making sure Iran does not have the ability to develop nuclear weapons.

Earthquakes Rattles Arizona

An earthquake rattled northern Arizona Sunday night.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported the 4.7 magnitude quake centered 7 miles north of Sedona and was 6 miles deep.  While no homes reported damage, the highway department had to clear rocks and debris from highways between Sedona and Flagstaf.

“Business as usual,” said David Brumbaugh, director of the Arizona Earthquake Information Center at Northern Arizona University told azfamily.com. “It’s nothing unusual to have earthquakes in this part of the state. Most of them are too small to be felt.”

The USGS reported over 1,200 people said they felt the quake.

“I think what I heard was the house kind of rattling,” said Donna Kearney Lomeo, a Sedona real estate agent, told azfamily. “It sounded like a bunch of balls rolling around on the roof.”

Smaller aftershocks have been felt in the region.
