North Korea Threatens Pre-Emptive Nuclear Strike On U.S.

North Korea, on the heels of announcing they are considering ending the armistice with South Korea after 60 years, vowed to exercise its right to launch a pre-emptive nuclear strike against the United States if the United Nations imposes more sanctions against the country.

“As long as the United States is willing to spark nuclear war our forces will exercise their right to a pre-emptive nuclear strike,” said North Korea’s foreign ministry. Continue reading

U.S. Unemployment Rises Amid Job Growth

Almost 157,000 jobs were added to the U.S. economy last month while the unemployment rate continued to climb.

The unemployment rate climbed to 7.9% in January, up .1% from the previous month’s total. The data from the Labor Department said that an average of 181,000 jobs were created each month in 2012. However, the data did not break down to say if those were low paying, minimum wage jobs or jobs with livable wages. Continue reading

North Korea to carry out third nuclear test ‘aimed at US’

Defying a resolution issued by the United Nations Security Council on Tuesday that condemned Pyongyang for test-firing a missile in December and tightened existing sanctions on the regime, North Korea’s National Defence Commission said the new nuclear test would be part of its action against the “sworn enemy of the Korean people”. “Red October” Cyber-Attack Discovered

Russian research firm Kaspersky Labs released information today about a major cyber-crime attack that has been stealing classified government information since 2007.

The malware, code named “Red October,” is designed to steal encrypted files and has the ability to retrieve files that have been deleted on a computer if the deletion was not done in a secure manner. Continue reading

Russian Cyber-Gangster Targeting US Banks

Computer security firm McAfee has sent an alert to banks throughout the US that a Russian “cyber-gangster” using the alias “Thief-In-Law” is preparing a massive assault on the banking system.

The cyber-criminal has reportedly infected hundreds of computers in the US with the intent of stealing their bank account information. The information would then be used to pull money from their account and that of other people on the same banking system. Continue reading
