Al-Qaeda Kills 45 In Yemen

Yemeni government officials announced that al-Qaeda is responsible for a homicide bombing this weekend that killed 45 people and injured dozens.

The homicide bomber walked into a funeral in the city of Jaar and detonated his explosive belt. The service was conducted by a group of tribal militiamen who have supported the Yemeni military in their attempts to eliminate al-Qaeda in the nation. Continue reading

Homicide Bomber Kills Six In Yemen

A homicide bomber attacked the police academy in the capital of Yemen killing six and injuring dozens.

Islamic militants in the country have been vowing to continue a campaign of terror in what they term “retaliation” for the military destroying terrorist strongholds. Ansar al-Sharia, an al-Qaeda affiliate based in the Arabian Peninsula, claimed responsibility for the murders. Continue reading

Al Qaeda Yemen Has Entire Unit Devoted To US

A source working closely with US intelligence has identified a group within Al Qaeda Yemen whose entire purpose is designing attacks against the United States according to CNN.

The unit is working to help develop explosives that are designed to get back the X-Ray screening at major airports. The unit, based in southern Yemen, has yet to pull off a successful attack against American troops or civilians. Continue reading

CIA Stops New “Underwear Bomb” Plot By Al Qaeda

US Intelligence officials have reported the stopping of a new “underwear bomb” plot by Al Qaeda’s Yemeni operatives similar to the failed 2009 Christmas Day plot.

The FBI is studying the bomb, allegedly an upgraded version of the underwear bomb used in 2009, after being seized in an unnamed middle eastern country. The plot was broken up in the early stages between the making of the bomb and before the public was put at any risk.  Continue reading
