Islamic terrorist organization Boko Haram set off a series of bombs in the northern Nigerian city of Maiduguri killing at least 10.
Lt. Col. Sagir Musa told the BBC that the attacks were aimed at the military’s task force within the city. Maiduguri has been considered the home base for Boko Haram operations.
Witnesses to the attacks say a primary school and a radio tower were destroyed in the bombings.
City residents also say that the group was responsible for gunmen robbing a market and shooting a traffic warden in the city near a military checkpoint.
Boko Haram is responsible for the deaths of over 1,400 people since 2010.
