Two U.S. soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan by a man dressed in an Afghan police uniform. The forces attached to NATO were shot in Khas Uruzgan, about 250 miles from the capital of Kabul.
Last month the U.S. has suspended training of Afghan police because of insider attacks. Officials wouldn’t confirm that this terrorist was connected to the Taliban but said it was possible the attacker was a militant dressed in a police uniform.
U.S. forces spokeswoman Maj. Lori Hodge refused to give the BBC any more details about the attack.
The attack comes a day after a British soldier and an Italian soldier were killed in similar style attacks attributed to terrorist attacks. Analysts have said that questions are now being raised about the recruitment procedures for Afghan police.
