Luke 21:11 There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.
A series of earthquakes rattled southern Mexico Tuesday driving residents into the streets as quake alarms squealed through the countryside.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported two quakes within ten minutes of each other with the first striking at 8:04 a.m. Central Time. The 5.5 magnitude quake centered on the Pacific Coast and was 227 miles south-southeast of Mexico City. The 5.5 magnitude was a downgrade from the initial reports of 5.9.
Just as citizens were heading back inside or checking for damage, a second quake struck at 8:12 a.m., setting off alarms in the capital of Mexico City and requiring those in tall buildings to evacuate. The second quake was measured at a magnitude of 5.1.
No reports of injuries or damage have been given by government officials as they continue to assess the aftermath of this morning’s quakes and anticipate further aftershocks.
