35,000 March Against Abortion in Ireland

2 Timothy 3:1-5 (KJV) “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God…”

Editor’s Note: Throughout the scriptures, God has made it clear that shedding innocent blood is murder, and no murderer will enter heaven. In addition to the death of the unborn baby, abortion also substantially harms the women and many times, families, husbands, boyfriends and a whole sphere of relationships connected to and surrounding each abortion. Often, lifelong guilt and other social, relational, spiritual and even physical problems follow the murder of innocent babes in the womb. Pastor Jim Bakker believes that this issue, abortion, may be the single most significant issue that brings God’s judgment on this nation more than any other.

Protesters carrying signs that read “Kill the bill! Not the child!” marched through Dublin, Ireland on Saturday to demand the government stop plans to legalize abortions in select cases.

The demonstrators marched for two hours through the capital city to the parliament building where legislators next week are expected to pass the bill. Speakers from the protesters demanded the government put the matter to a national referendum.

Ireland and Malta are the only members of the European Union to outlaw abortion.

Ireland’s constitution was amended in 1986 to declare that an unborn baby has the right to life. However, the country’s supreme court in 1992 said that a pregnant woman has an equal right to life and therefore life-saving abortions are legal.

Six governments since that ruling have not exacted laws putting the court’s ruling into effect.

The bill being considered would also allow a woman to abort her child if she can convince three doctors that she is suicidal as a result of her pregnancy. Opponents of the bill say pro-abortion doctors could then work together to increase abortions.
