Netanyahu To Propose Public Referendum On Peace Deal

Luke 19:43,44 “The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.”

Editor's Note: Jim Bakker teaches to watch Israel closely because it is the prophetic timeclock for the unfolding of Last Days events. In Matthew 24, Israel is the fig tree that the Lord told His people to observe to understand the times. It is like a barometer of what is happening in the nations.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told his cabinet on Sunday that he will hold a national referendum on any peace agreement with the Palestinians.

Netanyahu said the decision on a peace agreement was too important to leave to the government. Israel has never held a single-issue referendum in its 65-year-history and cannot happen without legislation in the Knesset.

The pledge surprised cabinet members, as negotiators between Israel and Palestine will be meeting in Washington this week for the first time in three years.

The pledge is seen in some parts of the Israeli political structure as a way for Netanyahu to keep his ruling coalition in place as some members threatened to quit if some demands of the Palestinians were met such as pre-1967 borders.
