Luke 21:12 “But before all this, they will lay hands on you and persecute you. They will deliver you to synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name.
Over 10,000 Islamists marched down the most heavily Christian street in Assiut, Egypt chanting “Islamic, Islamic, despite the Christians.”
Children spray-painted “Boycott the Christians” on walls.
Islamists are increasing hate campaigns against Christians in the southern part of Egypt where the government is unable to maintain the levels of control seen in the capital city of Cairo. The common line is that the minority of Christians in the country is behind Morsi’s removal from office.
Hossam Nabil, a jewelry store owner on the street where the protest took place, said that he had to close and barricade his store as the Islamists passed by.
They (the marchers) run their index finger across their throats to suggest they will slaughter us, or scream Morsi’s name in our faces,” Nabil said.
Islamists have killed a least 7 Christians since the removal of Morsi.
