Typhoon Usagi Kills At Least 3 In China

Southern China bore the brunt of Typhoon Usagi where at least three people have died while neighboring Hong Kong dodged a much stronger hit.

Officials say two people were killed in Guangdong province when a tree fell on the duo while a third people died after being struck by flying glass.

Usagi, the strongest storm on the planet in 2013, made landfall around 7:40 p.m. local time on Sunday. The storm closed down Hong Kong’s port and most flights throughout the region were cancelled.

At least one person is reported missing in China. The storm still two people in the Philippines as it passed between the Philippines and Taiwan.

Flooding throughout the region could cause more problems in the coming days.
