Daniel 12:4 NLT “But you, Daniel, keep this prophecy a secret; seal up the book until the time of the end, when many will rush here and there, and knowledge will increase."
The Israeli Antiquities Authority announced the discovery of an inscription that was traced to the time of King David.
One of the researchers called it a “once in a lifetime” find.
A large clay storage jar was found at Khirbet Qeiyafa that was dated to the Iron Age between 980 and 1020 BC. On the jar is the name os Ishba’al son of Beda according to the research published in the Bulletin of the American Schools of Oriental Research.
“It is interesting to note that the name Ishbaʽal appears in the Bible, and now also in the archaeological record, only during the reign of King David, in the first half of the tenth century BCE. This name was not used later in the First Temple period,” Professor Yosef Garfinkel of the Institute of Archaeology of the Hebrew University and Saar Ganor of the Israel Antiquities Authority said in an IAA statement Tuesday.
The researchers said it was unlikely the Ishba’al mentioned on the jar was the same as the rival to King David.
Garfinkel said that just five years ago there were no known Judean inscriptions from that period.
“Minimalists would say that writing only started in Judah in the 7th century BCE,” he said. With the discovery of a second inscription at Khirbet Qeiyafa, “you can see that it existed; before this we didn’t even have any evidence that writing or literacy existed at all.”
“Researching any culture we would like to know if the people knew to read and write,” he said. “In this specific case study it’s even more important because it’s the beginning of the biblical tradition, and then it’s not just of interest to 40 archaeologists but to billions of people.”
Stan, I worry about you and I pray for you. I don’t want you to be left behind when the Rapture happens. ( “when”–not if !!!!) Please accept Jesus today—He IS alive !! 🙂
he’s alive, I saw him the other day! why don’t you ask him to show himself to you so you can see him also?
Dear Stan Kohls: Oh yes sir, HE is returning. Look out your window tomorrow morning at the heavens and lovely sunrise which “the Word”, Jesus Christ, spoke into being. These and multiple more majestic manifestations can be observed everyday and only a loving God and HIS son could create them. But, if you are only factually drive, research…research how many prophecies in the Old Testament have been fulfilled and come to pass in the New Testament and on into our modern day. Bless you as you search.
How much would that be like the New York Times?
I love all this new Biblical information, as I am anxiously awaiting THE RAPTURE and/or THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST!!!
Don’t hold your breath. There will be no Rapture, it’s only mentioned once, briefly, in the Bible, and no one really knows what it means. As for Jesus returning, he’s been dead 2000 years. Do you really think he’ll be returning some day soon?
Only the Father knows the day and the hour and so far, He hasn’t told anyone
Wishful thinking for those harboring evil in their hearts….
I’m sorry, maybe you haven’t heard, Jesus is alive!
We worship a living Saviour.
Stan, Jesus is not and hasn’t been dead for over 2000 years; He’s ALIVE and WELL in HEAVEN. Which what His Resurrection was all about. His body was raised from the dead, whole, complete and perfect in every way. And He has so graciously shared this gift with us, so we can be made whole and well, both here on Earth so no weapon formed against us can prosper. As for the rapture, Stan, it certainly is real, and will occur at the right and perfect moment that God has proclaimed it to be. and, it was spoken of in the Bible all over From the Old Testament all the way through the first book of Revelation! Read the Gospels, read the Book of Acts, read Paul’s Epistles. Not everyone will be Raptured, however; only those who are truly living for the Lord and obeying His Word NOW; and of course, those who don’t believe in the Rapture, will have to go through the horrible things that will be happening here on Earth. That is what the parable of the 10 virgins are all about. Please, Stan, if you don’t know the Bible, don’t try to quote it; you are not doing yourself any favors.
Jesus Christ is not dead! He rose from the dead and is seated at the Right Hand of God the Father! He is Alive, He lives in my heart and many other hearts and HE is returning soon!
