Pastor Jim Bakker began a new teaching series this past Sunday entitled “To Know Him.” The series will continue at 3:00 p.m. CST each Sunday on Grace Street at Morningside where everyone is welcome.
Pastor Jim began the series by emphasizing that it’s a crucial time for the Believer and a time to draw close to the Lord – to know Him! Morningside Church and the Jim Bakker Show wrapped 117 gifts (one for each employee) for Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse.
Each shoebox contains little treats, toys, and toiletries that will be sent to children in impoverished, war torn countries.

Why was it “the best of times and the worst of times?” We are living in precisely that situation now, and the best will get better, and the worst will get worse. Both are preparing this world for the age to come, and we are here to be the messengers, so we must understand our times.
Every new day is filled with potential and challenges. When we learn that the challenges are where some of the greatest potential is, we are on the path to a great and truly victorious life. The Apostle Paul went “strengthening and encouraging the churches, declaring to them that it was through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God” (see Acts 14:22). Basically, he was saying that in every trial there is a door to the kingdom. That’s how we must approach the trials that come our way, looking at them as a door for us to enter the kingdom in an even greater way. This is why “the great tribulation” is the door through which the whole earth will enter the kingdom of God.

Obsessive worry is absorption in self-defeating anxiety and pre-occupation with worst-case scenarios. It transmits negative vibrations and messages to the individual who is the target of the worry. If worry is directed toward situations or circumstances, it creates a discolored aura that permeates the atmosphere. Chronic worriers waste important time and energy agonizing over small and insignificant things that don’t warrant the amount of energy invested in the process. Morningside was once again blessed by Rabbi Jonathan Cahn as he and Jim and Lori discussed many earthshaking and pivotal topics including the storm on the East Coast and the nation’s choices this election year.
Rabbi Cahn, who lives in the New York City area, experienced the wrath of the storm, “Sandy” first-hand. He was without power for several days and he has two small children! However, the Fuel-Less Generator he received from Morningside proved to be a tremendous blessing to him and his family as it provided the power they needed in the midst of the storm!
