Indonesia Earthquake Kills Dozens

Intense rescue operations are still underway after a 6.1 magnitude earthquake caused massive devastation to Indonesia’s Aceh province. Officials say that quake shook the ground for at least 15 seconds in some of the worst hit areas.

Officials say the death toll is 24 and very likely to rise with more than 200 confirmed injured in the quake. In addition to damage from the quake that included flattening houses, landslides buried other homes. Continue reading

Canadian Police Stop Islamic Terror Plot

A British Columbia couple has been arrested on terrorism charges after attempting a Boston Marathon-style terrorist attack on Canada Day.

John Stewart Nuttall and Amanda Marie Korody were inspired by al-Qaeda ideology but were “self-radicalized” according to RCMP Assistant Commissioner James Malizia. He insisted the plot was only a domestic attack with no international cooperation. Continue reading

School Sued For Charging Pro-Life Group for Security

The University of Buffalo decided that a pro-life group having a debate to stand up for the lives of unborn children was so “controversial” that they ordered them to pay for security at their rally. School officials then charged the group more than $150 OVER the student group’s entire Student Association funding after the event.

The officers who were “working” the event included one who sat outside the building and read the newspaper while the debate went on inside. There were no major incidents at the debate. Continue reading
