The Egyptian government is seeking a massive loan from the International Monetary Fund to help the country’s foundering economy.

The negotiations between government officials and IMF representatives in Cairo is contingent on proving that the nation is serious about economic reform.

Anti-Christian Group Successful In Removing Jesus Portrait From School

The anti-Christian group Freedom from Religion Foundation has succeeded in removing a picture of Jesus from a southern Ohio school.

The FFRF, along with the ACLU, had sued the Jackson City School District to remove a portrait of Jesus that hung in the middle school’s “Hall of Honor” on behalf of a student and parents who refused to be identified. Continue reading

Taliban Kills 50 In Afghanistan

Taliban members dressed as soldiers assaulted a courthouse complex killing at least 50 people, 34 of them civilians.

At least 90 were injured, most of them civilians.

The attack in Farah province began around 9 a.m. local time when militants detonated explosives inside an army vehicle damaging the local governor’s office and two banks packed with civilians. Saudi Arabia Man Faces Paralysis As Punishment

Under the “eye for an eye” mindset of Islamic law, a 24-year-old Saudi Arabia man has been sentenced to be permanently paralyzed because he caused paralysis to a friend when he was 14.

Ali Al-Khawahir stabbed his best friend in the back when they were 14 resulting in paralysis. A Saudi court on Sunday ruled that Al-Khawahir is to be permanently paralyzed unless he can pay the victim almost $270,000. Continue reading

36 Bodies Found In Tibet Landslide

State media are reporting that 36 bodies have been recovered from a landslide in Tibet.

Thousands of workers have arrived on the scene to keep digging for the remaining bodies. According to the mining company who owns the site, 83 miners were buried in the slide. The landslide happened about 45 miles east of the Tibetan capital of Lhasa. Continue reading

Johns Hopkins Student Government Compares Pro-Life Students To White Supremacists

A pro-life student group at Johns Hopkins University has been denied official status after a debate that included pro-life students being compared to white supremacists.

Kristian Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, said the student council claimed being pro-life violates the school’s harassment policy. The violated group, Voice for Life, is searching for an attorney to sue the school because of the ban. Continue reading
