Al-Qaeda Homicide Bomber Attempts Assassination In Somalia

Revelation 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).

A homicide bomber attacked a hotel in Mogadishu, Somalia in an attempt to assassinate the country’s new President who had been staying at the hotel.

The bomber and four of the President’s security team were killed during the attack.

Al-Qaeda affiliated group Al-Shabab claimed credit for the attack.

Witnesses also report a second man tried to storm the building with guns after the explosion and that he was quickly killed by government security forces.

Al-Shabab was mostly driven from the country last year when African Union troops combined with Somali government troops to drive them from the nation. The group still conducts various terrorist attacks within the country claiming “the enemies of Somalia” appointed the current government.
