London police have announced the arrest of another man in connection with the terrorist murder of a British soldier on a London street. The 22-year-old man makes the total number of men being held in the terror attack to six.
The arrest comes as the BBC reports one of the two men who carried out the terror attack had been arrested in Kenya in 2010 in connection to suspected terrorist activities. It was believed that Michael Adebolajo was preparing to join the al-Shabab terrorist group in Somalia and was deported.
The British Foreign Office confirmed to the BBC they had given “consular assistance as normal” to Adebolajo in the Kenyan situation.
The news is causing problems for British intelligence services who have not explained why Adebolajo was not under closer surveillance given that the British government has previously expressed concerns about nationals returning from terrorist areas with training from those groups.
