British Unemployment Rises

Revelation 6:5,6 NCV When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a black horse, and its rider held a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard something that sounded like a voice coming from the middle of the four living creatures. The voice said, "A quart of wheat for a day's pay, and three quarts of barley for a day's pay, and do not damage the olive oil and wine!"

Unemployment in the UK rose to 2.52 million between November and January. Despite the rise in numbers, the overall unemployment rate held at 7.8%.

“There are still tough challenges ahead which is why we’re working hard to give jobseekers all the help and support they need to realise their aspiration of finding a job,” Employment Minister Mark Hoban told the BBC.

Opposition politicians warned that the situation is getting worse for younger workers because the number of unemployed youth rose to almost one million. Also, the unemployment figure for women took another significant rise.

The unemployment rate among people 16-24 rose to 993,000, or 21.2% of eligible workers.
