For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these. For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, rejected in regard to the faith.
Chicago police are on heightened alert after discovering a street gang has created a special group aimed only at killing police officers.
Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy told CBS that his department is taking the seriously reports of a “hit squad”. Deputies with the Cook County Sheriff’s office discovered the plot.
The plans show the gang planned an ambush where members would force police to chase them into an alley where other gang members would be waiting to gun the officers down in a hail of bullets.
In addition to the plot, gang members have been following police officers at the end of shifts in an attempt to discover where they live.
The “squad” is reportedly in response to a police crackdown on gang activity.
